AUTOMOTIVE ROAD MECHANIC (ENTRY-LEVEL FULL-TIME)

Orangeburg, South Carolina

Starting Wage $30.00 - $35.00 per hour

We're hiring an entry-level Automotive Mechanic responsible for the overall maintenance and safety of our fleet across multiple locations within the AMR company. This is a key role in ensuring our team can safely maintain and deliver timely and high-quality transportation services, care and customer service to patients.

JOB SUMMARY:
Based in Central South Carolina will be working at several operations within South Carolina located within a 60 mile radius or as required Performs light duty repairs on AMR fleet vehicles, assist senior mechanics and provides logistical support as assigned and or needed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES
* Performs light mechanical and electrical repairs on AMR vehicles and ambulances at local operations with no shop building.
* Responds to vehicle breakdowns in the field when requested including occasional call out on a weekend
* Provides logistical support for the SC Fleet Department and assists front line mechanics as needed.
* Operates company vehicles in accordance with GMR Company Policy and Employ Safe Practices
* Completes all required paperwork and documentation neatly, correctly, and on time using AMR repair orders.
* Attend all mandatory Fleet related training and complete GMR Yearly Assigned online classes
* Adhere to all GMR Company Policies and Procedures.
* Adherence to and compliance with information systems security is everyone's responsibility. It is the responsibility of every computer user to: Know and follow Information Systems' security policies and procedures. Attend Information Systems security training, when offered. Report information systems security problems.
* Vehicles repaired correctly and in a timely fashion.
* Responds positively to changing departmental priorities.
* Quickly respond, diagnose and repair vehicles during road call situations.
* Maintain safe and clean work area / vehicle.
* Accurately account for all parts and materials.
* Maintain good working relationship with all personnel and professional conduct with outside contacts/vendors
* Candidate must have excellent customer service skills.

Minimum Qualifications:
* 2 years verifiable Line Mechanic or Mechanic Helper / Associate experience/ Vocational Training
* Must have a basic set of personal tools.
* Must have a current valid driver's license.
* Must have a high school diploma, or equivalent
* 2 ASE Certifications (Truck or Automotive series). Preferably Brake and Steering / Suspension Preferred but not required. Must be willing to complete within 1 year
* MACS AC Certification or equivalent ASE Certification Preferred but not required. Must be willing to complete within 1 year.
* 2 consecutive satisfactory yearly performance appraisals.

Experience:
* Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
* Ability to work with limited supervision on the road and as a team member.
* Ability to employ discretion and confidentiality in sensitive areas.
* Ability to read, interpret, and follow instructions on memos, letters, various documents, and repair manuals.
* Ability to perform the essential job functions.
* Regular and predictable attendance.
