  • Estimated annual base pay: $61,000(minimum) - $79,000(midpoint) - $98,000(maximum)

What You Will Be Doing

  • Advanced Legal Research and Analysis: Perform detailed and comprehensive legal research, analyzing complex laws, regulations, and case precedents to provide actionable insights that directly inform legal strategy. Summarize findings in well-structured memoranda or reports for use by attorneys in litigation, negotiation, or advisory matters.
  • Case Management and Coordination: Take responsibility for managing medium-to-high complexity case files, ensuring all documentation is meticulously organized, deadlines are proactively managed, and critical information is readily accessible. Collaborate with attorneys, clients, and third parties to ensure smooth case progression.
  • Client and Witness Interaction: Serve as a key contact for clients and witnesses, conducting interviews to gather relevant information, preparing them for depositions or hearings, and addressing inquiries with professionalism and confidentiality. Build strong relationships to foster trust and effective communication.
  • Document Drafting and Review: Draft, review, and revise a variety of legal documents, including pleadings, discovery materials, contracts, and correspondence. Ensure all documents meet high standards of accuracy, compliance, and attention to detail, while adhering to applicable court and legal requirements.
  • Team Support and Process Improvement: Provide guidance to junior paralegals and actively contribute to improving workflows and processes within the legal team. Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency, streamline case handling, and foster collaboration across departments.

What We Are Looking For

  • BA/BS degree or a certificate from an accredited paralegal program preferred
  • 10+ years of paralegal experience, preferably in both law firms and corporate legal departments, with strong knowledge of litigation processes and issues
  • Expanded Legal Knowledge: A deeper understanding of legal principles, statutes, and procedural rules that allows for handling more complex cases and assisting with strategy development.
  • Advanced Research Skills: Proficiency in conducting detailed legal research, analyzing case law, and synthesizing findings to support attorneys in litigation and advisory matters.
  • Complex Case Management: Ability to manage medium-to-high complexity case files, ensuring all documents are organized, deadlines are met, and information is readily accessible to attorneys.
  • Document Drafting Expertise: Skill in drafting and reviewing more complex legal documents, such as motions, briefs, contracts, and discovery responses, with precision and adherence to legal standards.
  • Client and Witness Interaction: Strong interpersonal skills for interviewing clients and witnesses, preparing them for depositions or hearings, and maintaining professional relationships.
  • Leadership Skills: Emerging leadership abilities to guide junior paralegals, delegate tasks effectively, and ensure high-quality work across the team.
  • Technical Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of legal technology, including case management systems, e-discovery tools, and document automation software, to enhance efficiency.
  • Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail to ensure accuracy in legal filings, case documents, and project deliverables, reducing the risk of errors or missed deadlines.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational abilities to manage large volumes of documentation, coordinate with multiple stakeholders, and handle the complexities of high-value cases.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to anticipate challenges, propose solutions, and contribute to the resolution of issues arising during case handling or legal processes.
