We are in search of an Agricultural Lending Learning Designer or Senior Agricultural Lending Learning Designer to join our Learning and Research department in Spokane, Washington (Headquarters) preferred. This full-time position reports to the Director Lending and Insurance Learning, and is responsible for designing, developing and delivering effective learning solutions and resources for Lending and Insurance employees at AgWest.

After an initial in-office training period, this position is eligible for workplace flexibility and a one-time home office stipend. Employees are expected to continue working from their office location a minimum of 60% of the time. Relocation assistance is available for candidates who may need to relocate to Spokane for this opportunity.

Compensation Information

The base salary range for this position in Spokane, Washington is:

Level II:
Typical starting range: $64,600 - $86,500
Full base salary range: $64,600 - $97,500
Annual performance-based incentive target is 10% of base.

Senior Level III:
Typical starting range: $78,000 - $107,400
Full base salary range: $78,000 - $122,100
Annual performance-based incentive target is12% of base.

Job Requirements

  • Deliver existing Lending and Insurance learning experiences including fundamental to advanced level learning, projects, and ongoing compliance and regulatory training for Ag Lending, Insurance, and Country Home Lending.
  • Execute on the ongoing promotion/awareness, communications, delivery, evaluation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of Lending and Insurance learning.
  • Facilitate, emcee, present and /or instruct workshop-based learning/training in-person, virtual, or onsite.
  • Identify and collaborate with subject matter experts (internal, external, or both) to develop and deliver learning and related offerings.
  • Proactively engage stakeholders, subject matter experts, and learnings to identify learning objectives, complete needs analysis, match design to needs identified, and facilitate development efforts with others.
  • Develop supervisor, coach, and facilitator train-the-trainer resources that foster an effective coaching and learning culture.
  • Proactively identify new hires and equip supervisors, coaches, and learners with the resources required for onboarding and assigned learning experience.
  • Drive continuous improvement by analyzing learner behavior, evaluation data, employee performance and business results. Proactively seek feedback matched with up-to-date knowledge of learning design best practices.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with Learning and Research Operations, Policy and Procedures, Organizational Change Management, Project Management, Lending and Insurance and other teams throughout the organization to effectively achieve results while fostering strong relationships.
  • Ensure all role-based learning, resources and content remain up-to-date and align with established standards and content governance processes and timelines.
  • Participate in Learning and Research strategic planning and budgeting, representing Lending and Insurance learning experiences and related priorities.
  • May also support quality assurance, technology and systems training, requirements gathering, and project consultation.
  • Perform all duties and maintain all standards in accordance with company policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • Generally, requires a bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, learning, business administration, organizational development, finance, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated understanding of financial statements, credit analysis, lending processes, and ability to translate that knowledge into learning resources.
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating with business unit leads and internal stakeholders to create innovative and engaging learning experiences.
  • Solid understanding and proven application of adult learning principles and instructional design to create effective and engaging learning experiences, preferably in a corporate environment.
  • Proven project and time management skills including successful experience managing multiple streams of work with multiple clients simultaneously.
  • Small and large group facilitation skills, across a wide variety of audiences.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to a diverse audience.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively partner, influence and collaborate.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Requirements

  • Previous experience within the Farm Credit System.
  • Knowledge of agriculture and agricultural business operations.
  • Previous experience in Lending and/or Insurance in an agricultural business setting.
  • Advanced degrees in Instructional Design, Organizational Development, Digital Learning Technology, and/or Adult Education/Learning Theory, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience incorporating multimedia elements (audio, video, and graphics) into blended learning solutions.
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies and design-thinking practice.
