As the Director, Strategic Advisory & Client Analytics, you will provide leadership and oversight of the day-to-day client engagement activities for the strategic advisory organization. The responsibilities of the director include leading and motivating a team of professionals that are tasked with identifying, presenting, and managing strategic initiatives for a portfolio of Element clients. Additionally, the director will monitor progress toward business plans and strategies to ensure that growth and profitability objectives are achieved for the department. Effectiveness in working across departments is critical to ensure our client satisfaction.

A Day in the Life

  • Provide input into the creation of and execute the Commercial strategy to achieve business objectives. Determine and monitor key performance indicators for strategic Advisory organization; anticipate and react quickly to changes in these indicators, securing resources for planning, change, etc. as required
  • Develop strong strategic business plans supported by proactive, metric based, and innovative sales Advisory plans developed by team members. Participate in essential operating rhythm processes as a member of a leadership team
  • Responsible for all aspects of account growth including strategy development, integrated account planning, opportunity identification, and value communication. Identify opportunities, potential risks and issues that impact Element Fleet, recommend and implement solutions to these issues
  • Lead and manage large cross-functional strategic projects that help contribute to the value proposition of Strategic Advisory partnering with EXE/VP/Director level across the organization
  • Hire, direct, supervise, develop and coach team members, being clear about expectations and accountabilities. Measure performance effectiveness and provide feedback and coaching to team members in support of development and future career goals
  • Develop and implement employee performance management programs; write and communicate employee reviews
  • Create a positive working environment. Foster collaboration, teamwork, and continuous learning to maximize employee engagement. Recognize accomplishments and contributions, linking rewards with performance
  • Ensure team is trained and well prepared to support rapidly evolving and highly competitive market with dramatic changes in prospect/client expectations and sourcing methodologies. Design training events that build knowledge, skills and performance and lead a cohesive team
  • Ensure sales strategies reflect a strong knowledge of prospect business and organization, current and future needs, sales plans, key decision makers and decision-making processes and documented relationship management.
  • Presenting at conferences as a thought leader / subject matter expert
  • Active participant in SAS leadership meetings to steer the future goals and direction of SAS
  • Responsible for the front-end client experience of the Xcelerate Intelligence product, including solicitation of feedback from high visibility clients, coordination with product managers and internal parties, architecture of design framework for software, and execution of product roadmap for department

Supervision & Influence

  • Minimum of 5 direct reports - a combination of people leaders and individual contributors
  • Report out to Client Advisory Board, soliciting feedback on client experience, and general responsibility for Advisory product roadmap and project execution

Scope & Impact

  • Large scope and impact related to client retention, SOW growth (financial), converting prospects to clients (financial)
  • Large impact on savings identified and actioned as well as EV conversion and NPS scores
  • Large impact on external stakeholders (clients)

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, economics, or another business-related curriculum
  • Deep financial acumen, strong understanding, and ability to develop and work with financial leasing and service models typical of complex corporate needs
  • Skillful in written and oral communications, effective as coach, mentor, influencer, and educator in a wide range of audiences. Sound negotiation skills
  • Contemporary leadership style and approach; exemplary leadership behaviors
  • Customer-centric mindset, able to translate customer issues/needs into profitable business solutions
  • Strong team leader; able to engage and win respect and cooperation of others outside of Commercial team. Can work collaboratively, playing whatever role is required
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively interact at all levels of an organization
  • Comprehensive knowledge of industry-related risk, tax, operational fields
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, etc.)
  • Ability to travel internationally

Desired Characteristics

  • Master's degree and 6+ relevant years of work experience including, but not limited to: Direct sales, Risk, Finance, Audit and/or Sales Database management experience
  • 2 years of sales experience (or a minimum of 2 years of transactional experience in financial services)

Knowledge & Competencies

  • Decision Making & Impact - full autonomy with aligned clients which are among the largest and most complex. Responsible to deliver savings to clients
  • Complexity & Independent Judgement - Clients associated with the Director are among the most complex, problem solving, bringing recommendations, presenting to (client) C-suite are not uncommon.
  • Leadership & Autonomy -Responsibility of coaching team, their outcomes, performance reviews and including reconciling performance gaps
  • Innovation & Problem Solving - This is the main role, innovative problem solving for our clients.
  • Business Intelligence Technical Expertise - must have high competency of business intelligence software functionality to influence current and future architecture and design, must have strong understanding of internal product datasets and be able to synthesize data into user friendly visualizations that address need to produce actionable insights for our portfolio of clients.

The hiring base salary range for this position is $124,600 - $171,400 annually. Actual compensation within this range will be dependent upon the individual's knowledge, skills, experience, equity with other team members, and alignment with market data. Please note that the disclosed salary range is solely for candidates hired to perform work within this geographic location. Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location.
