ChampionX has an immediate opening for a Purchasing Coordinator in NW Houston. It will play a critical role in supporting our Theta manufacturing facility, ensuring seamless procurement processes and efficient inventory management. This position is responsible for executing purchasing activities to maintain adequate inventory levels for the product line, adhering to established material buying plans while optimizing costs.

The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and suppliers to streamline operations.

What You Will Do:

  • Manage and procure inventory and supplies, places purchase orders with vendors.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, manufacturing and field locations to ensure adequate inventory levels are maintained.
  • Ensure supplier order acknowledgments are received and supplier on time delivery.
  • Support purchasing management in activities such as price benchmarking, vendor management, process analysis, market research, and model building.
  • Conducts contract negotiations. Gathers information and provides input on larger contracts and set up new suppliers in Oracle.
  • Assists in the process of interviewing and evaluating sales representatives with vendors.
  • Manages loading and retrieving legal and compliance documents into applicable storage systems.
  • Manage open purchase order backlog, maintain accurate and up-to-date information; and work with A/P team to ensure timely payments
  • Consistently follows company purchasing policies, procedures, and processes.
  • Contributes to the department continuous improvement culture.
  • Other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications :

  • 2-year associates degree; preferred degree in Supply Chain
  • 2 years of experience in a similar purchasing role within manufacturing
  • Supplier management and inventory experience
  • Good negotiation skills; and ability to build effective working relationships with vendors
  • Excellent attention to details; well organized, and ability to meet strict deadlines.
  • Strong computer skills, particularly with web-based ERP systems (Oracle a plus), Microsoft Outlook, and proficiency in Microsoft Excel
