Compensation

  • $25-$28 per hour; This is a part time position for 20-28 hours per week.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Participate in obtaining bids from 3rd party subcontractors and vendors and develop and maintain positive working relationships with these 3rd party subcontractors and vendors.
  • Research and remain knowledgeable and current about applicable engineering codes and standards, local, State and Federal building permits and regulations, and Company directives.
  • Follow along projects continually communicate with the team and management regarding the status of projects.
  • Coordinate the tracking, ordering and construction of various replacement and spare components and pieces of equipment with the various Company Divisions.
  • Prepare design drawings and specifications for mechanical equipment, dies, tools, and controls, using computer-assisted drafting (CAD) equipment.
  • Modify and revise designs to correct operating deficiencies or to reduce production problems.
  • Take measurements and document data logs within the facility.
  • Check dimensions of materials to be used and assign numbers to the materials.
  • Compute mathematical formulas to develop and design detailed specifications for components or machinery using computer-assisted equipment.
  • Coordinate with and consult other workers to design, lay out, or detail components and systems and to resolve design or other problems.
  • Interact with others in a professional and ethical manner
  • Follow department and company procedures
  • Keep up regular attendance and punctuality; regular attendance and punctuality are essential for the smooth operation of this company
  • Other duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the business. These responsibilities may change from time to time are business needs evolve over time.

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Professional Certifications, Education, Experience and Travel Requirements

  • Knowledge of practical application of engineering science and technology for building and construction, mechanically functioning equipment and production processes.
  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Computer Aided Design (CAD) software.
  • Ability to identify and determine solutions to complex problems.
  • Ability to read and edit building blueprints.
  • Ability to communicate with multiple levels of staff, verbally and in writing
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.

Physical Demands/Requirements:

Constantly (over 2/3):

  • Must be able to physically observe and evaluate processes and projects.
  • Operate computer and other office equipment such as calculator, copy machine and printer.
  • Read various written documents.

Frequently (1/3-2/3):

  • Communicates with co-workers and exchanges accurate information in-person, telephonically and via electronic devices/e-mail.
  • Moves throughout office accessing files, office machinery, etc.

Occasionally (under 1/3):

  • Move around industrial equipment in manufacturing facility to perform duties such as visiting work sites.
  • Moves across wet/slippery and uneven surfaces in industrial and manufacturing operations.
  • Exposed to greasy conditions and strong odors common in the rending industry.
  • Uses personal protective equipment including safety glasses, gloves, masks and safety shoes.
  • Operates and uses maintenance/mechanic tools including electrical hand tools.
  • Required to move material or equipment up to 50 lbs.
