GENERAL PURPOSE

We are seeking a proactive and technically skilled Project Engineer to lead and support a variety of engineering and sourcing-related projects that drive operational efficiency, cost savings, and product innovation. This role requires close collaboration with engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, and supplier partners to execute initiatives that improve product performance, optimize sourcing strategies, and support business objectives.

The ideal candidate combines a strong engineering foundation with project management skills and a strategic mindset to solve complex challenges and deliver measurable results.

DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Lead and manage technical projects from concept through implementation, including design changes, product updates, and process improvements.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, resource plans, and risk assessments to ensure on-time and on-budget execution.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with manufacturing, quality, R&D, and supply chain teams to ensure project success.
  • Support product lifecycle activities including prototype development, testing, validation, and production ramp-up.
  • Provide engineering support for sourcing initiatives, including supplier selection, technical evaluations, and alternate material/component identification.
  • Partner with sourcing and procurement teams to assess supplier capabilities and drive technical alignment for new or existing products.
  • Lead value engineering efforts focused on cost reduction, quality improvement, and supply chain resilience.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation to support sourcing transitions and product changes.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Strong understanding of engineering principles, manufacturing methods, and design for manufacturability.
  • Proficient in project management tools and methodologies.
  • Experience using CAD software and familiarity with ERP and PLM systems.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, including the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.

Minimum Qualifications and Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or related field)
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in engineering, manufacturing, or project management roles.
  • Experience with supplier interaction, product development, or sourcing-related initiatives is highly desirable.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • General office environment
  • Requires occasional travel not to exceed 10%

The expected salary range for this position is $80,000-$85,000 annually (Insert salary range as determined)

The offered compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to level of experience, certifications/education, training, and work location. This position is eligible for variable incentive pay based on company performance.
