Position Summary

The Executive Director is the functional lead for Marketing Operations and Learning and Development. The Executive Director's scope includes Marketing Operations (e.g., events planning, digital operations, and communications), Commercial Learning and Development (e.g., product training, disease state training, and skills development), Corporate Learning and Development (e.g., Leadership Development Program). The Executive Director will lead key operational functions that support the execution of our commercial strategy in the US and build the organization's efforts to cultivate a high-performing and continuously learning culture.

This position is remote with a corporate headquarters in Foster City, CA and Parsippany, NJ. The Executive Director will report to the Senior Vice President, Commercial Strategy and Operations.

Primary Responsibilities

Marketing Operations:

  • Assess and determine needs, including timing and scope to build up the following marketing operations capabilities to support strategy execution and prepare for future growth:
    • Digital Operations
    • PRC Operations
    • Speaker Programs and Ad Boards Operations
    • Congress Management
    • Compliance Operations
    • Vendor Management
    • Events Planning & Management
    • Marketing Communications
  • Build the above marketing operations capabilities that's fit for purpose for the Company to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
  • Lead planning and execution of commercial meetings, including national and regional meetings
  • Design and implement a chairman's circle program to recognize exceptional field performers
  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and new technologies; and integrate relevant approaches into Company processes and ways of working

Commercial Learning & Development:

  • Develop and execute the commercial-wide training and development strategy and roadmap that supports business growth, enhances employee capabilities, and drives a culture of continuous learning
  • Partner with executive leadership to identify core competencies required to achieve business goals and integrate them into learning programs
  • Lead and provide oversight for the creation of scalable and innovative training programs across all commercial teams (e.g. Sales, Market Access, Commercial Operations), including disease state, product, business knowledge, technical skills, and customer engagement skills
  • Continue to elevate the new hire training process to include more robust content and validation to optimize new hire experience
  • Develop and coordinate training content and facilitation for Commercial Field National Meetings and Regional Meetings, including planning and "train the trainer" meetings
  • Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness and ROI of training programs, including learning outcomes, behavior change, and business impact
  • Use data analytics and feedback to continually assess and improve training content, methods, and delivery
  • Leverage a variety of training modalities, such as e-learning, instructor-led, blended, and AI and experiential learning to accommodate different learning styles and maximize engagement

Corporate Learning & Development:

  • Partner with department heads, HR business partners, and executive leadership to understand development needs and ensure alignment with business priorities
  • Develop, execute, and continuously improve a comprehensive learning and development strategy aligned with the company's business objectives and talent goals
  • Drive adoption of Learning and Development programs by promoting a culture of continuous learning and effectively communicating program benefits
  • Develop and manage the Learning and Development budget, ensuring cost-effective program delivery and ROI on learning initiatives

Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, science, operations, finance, or related field required; Master's degree preferred
  • At least 15 years of pharmaceutical/biotechnology experience, including at least 10 years of experience in Operations
  • Breadth and depth of various Sales, Marketing, and Operations functional expertise preferred
  • Proven success in complex operational leadership roles

Salary Statement:

Offered compensation is determined based on market data, internal equity, and an applicant's relevant skills, experience, and educational background. The salary ranges displayed below are only for those who, if selected for the role, will perform work in the specific locations listed. Please note the employment opportunity is not limited to these locations.

General Salary Range: $275,000 to $295,000
