The Opportunity

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University is seeking a qualified and experienced Facilities Business Manager to support the Vice President for Facilities at the Daytona Beach Campus. This position plays a critical role in overseeing the financial and administrative operations of more than 25 departments within Facilities, with responsibility for managing an annual operational budget of approximately $18 million and capital budgets exceeding $50 million.

Working under general direction, the Facilities Business Manager will exercise sound judgment and independent decision-making to manage financial processes, oversee capital project tracking, and support strategic planning and research initiatives. This is an independent role that requires a high level of initiative, problem-solving, and the ability to operate within established policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Required Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance/Accounting, Business, or Facilities Management.

  • Note: A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in a financial setting may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Required Experience:

  • 5+years of related work experience in accounting or finance.

  • Proven experience managing large budgets and performing financial analysis in a complex organization.

Required Skills and Knowledge:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and Internet-based tools.

  • Mid-level accounting skills with the ability to analyze and interpret financial data.

  • Strong organizational, communication, and decision-making skills.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing multiple priorities.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).

  • Familiarity with facilities management operations and capital project tracking is a plus.
