Overview

We are seeking a dynamic Director of Quality and Commissioning to oversee multiple project teams, ensuring our company's rigorous quality standards are consistently met and projects are expertly commissioned. In this influential role, you will be actively involved throughout the entire project lifecycle-supporting everything from pursuit and proposal through design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and ongoing client support. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and administering our Quality and Commissioning programs, while also managing key client relationships as the primary advocate and main point of contact for all quality and commissioning efforts.

Additional Information: The pay range for this position is $132,000 to $165,000+ benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by the experience and education required, and level of responsibility. The range posted for this role represents a range that Interstates, in good faith, believes it is willing to pay at the time of this posting. The pay is determined by job related skills, training, education, and experience.

Responsibilities

* Drive strategic planning for the Quality and Commissioning function across the company, including facilitating issue processing meetings.
* Develop, implement, and manage the Interstates Quality and Commissioning Program, including site-specific protocols and controls that meet contract requirements.
* Ensure the Quality and Commissioning System remains up to date ("Evergreen") and is consistently established and executed by relevant teams, supported by appropriate documentation and training.
* Act as the primary liaison with external parties and clients on all Quality and Commissioning matters, building, and maintaining strong client relationships throughout project lifecycles.
* Oversee, review, and approve all Quality and Commissioning Program documents, records, and contract-related submittals.
* Clearly communicate project-specific quality and commissioning requirements to internal teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and customers.
* Responsible for the onboarding and management of both Quality and Commissioning subcontractors if used on an Interstates' project.
* Routinely assesses gaps in skills or capabilities of the project team and aligns resources or training to fill the gaps.
* Plan and execute Commissioning Plans with project teams for multiple complex projects simultaneously.
* Monitor and report on the performance of the Quality and Commissioning System to senior management, including identifying and recommending improvements.
* Delegate and oversee all project inspection and quality control activities, ensuring compliance with established standards.
* Lead the identification, management, and resolution of quality nonconformances and perform root cause analysis to improve existing standards and tools and build quality into the process.


Qualifications

Essential Skills & Experience :Bachelor's degree (four-year) in engineering, construction management, or a related field required. Minimum of 8 to 10 years of progressive experience in the engineering or construction industry, with demonstrated leadership of technical teams delivering defined scopes of work.
Proven ability to manage, develop, and mentor team members to foster professional growth intentionally and methodically. Strong client interface and relationship management skills are highly desirable.

Travel Requirements: Travel will be required and will vary according to business requirements. Travel will be required up to 40% of the time.

Work Environment:
Blended Office and Construction Environment: All employees, even those in traditional office positions, may be expected to visit and/or perform work on job sites, requiring flexibility to adapt to diverse environments.

Office work is performed primarily in a modern office setting equipped with collaborative tools and technology. Employees will spend a significant time operating personal computer equipment, with extended periods of screen time. Noise levels are generally low to moderate, with occasional interruptions from office activity or equipment. Flexibility in work arrangements may allow occasional remote work, depending on the assignment and business needs. Employees may be required to travel to various locations for meetings or project coordination.

Jobsite work involves exposure to outdoor weather conditions, uneven surfaces, elevated noise levels, and various workplace hazards, including the risk of electrical shock. Adherence to strict safety protocols is essential. Interstates provides all necessary personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hats, gloves, high-visibility gear, safety glasses, and role-specific safety gear.
