HR Business Partner
Purpose:
- Valkyrie Enterprises is hiring a Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to join our team in Virginia Beach, VA. This role provides both strategic and hands-on support to employees and managers across multiple business areas and locations. As a trusted partner, the HRBP collaborates closely with operational leadership to execute HR initiatives, ensure regulatory compliance (domestic and international), and drive employee engagement and workforce development. The role is primarily client-facing, with a strong emphasis on supporting geographically dispersed teams and ensuring consistency in HR practices.
- This position is expected to work on-site at our corporate headquarters in Virginia Beach, VA, with flexibility as business needs allow. The HRBP may occasionally be required to work beyond standard business hours to support operational needs.
Job Description:
- Serve as the primary HR point of contact for assigned business areas, providing guidance to employees and leaders on HR-related matters across multiple U.S. and international locations.
- Perform professional-level support in multiple HR disciplines including employee relations, labor classification, compensation, workforce development, regulatory compliance, and internal/external audit readiness.
- Support full employee lifecycle activities such as onboarding, employee records management, and conducting exit interviews.
- Execute HR-driven programs, policies, and procedures in alignment with business goals and compliance requirements.
- Interpret data, trends, and HR metrics to inform workforce planning and support business decisions.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders through effective communication and proactive HR service delivery.
Qualifications:
- Must have Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; or a minimum of 4 years of exempt-level professional HR experience.
- Must have broad HR experience supporting multiple HR disciplines in a fast-paced environment.
- Must have knowledge and experience with international HR practices, including compliance with country-specific employment laws and cross-border workforce support.
- Must have strong working knowledge of federal and state labor laws and ability to stay current on regulatory updates.
- Must have Prior experience supporting a government contractor is preferred, including familiarity with HR compliance requirements related to federal contracts (e.g., SCA, EEO, OFCCP) and working within a DCAA-regulated environment.
- Must have excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present to diverse audiences and build trust at all levels of the organization.
Desired Qualifications:
- Government contracting experience preferred, including familiarity with SCA, OFCCP, and DCAA-regulated environments.
- Proficiency in using HRIS platforms; experience with Paycor or Costpoint is preferred.
- PHR, SHRM-CP, or equivalent certification preferred.
Travel Requirements:
- Occasional travel-up to 15%
- If position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain (by start of position) and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID. Physical Requirements:
- Work generally performed in an office setting but may require occasional visits to industrial or shipboard settings.
- Will normally require minor lifting and carrying of boxes of supplies/equipment.
