What you will do:
Perform comprehensive audiologic evaluations on adult and pediatric patients. Administer middle ear tympanometry and acoustic reflex tests. Proficient in screening and diagnostic otoacoustic emissions testing. Create and maintain comprehensive audiologic reports with diagnostic findings and recommendations in electronic medical records. Perform Auditory Brainstem Response (ABR), Videonystagmography (VNG), and Vestibular Evoked Myogenic Potentials (VEMP) with interpretation and results recommendations. Provide hearing aid adjustments and cleanings as requested. Maintain current "state of the art" knowledge as it pertains to audiological diagnostic and rehabilitative procedures. Communicate with ENT and other referring physicians' appropriate diagnostic and rehabilitative information with succinct interpretations and recommendations. May determine appropriate amplification and/or assistive devices for patients. May perform verification measures such as real ear measurements in compliance with best practices. May provide hearing aid evaluations, assessing patient's need for amplification and other personal amplification services. May provide hearing aids which includes orientation, programming, adjustments and counselling on realistic expectations. May be responsible for ordering all products, supplies and inventory for sales of hearing aids and related audio devices. Acts as liaison with all suppliers and manufacturers relating to hearing devices. Makes certain all incoming hearing devices and supplies are logged in and quality checked. Monthly inventory and invoice matching of all products purchased in that month. Implements and directs the hearing aid dispensing program using various established protocols.
What you will need
Doctoral Degree in Audiology, or Master's Degree in Audiology if degree obtained prior to January 1, 2008 - Required Current IL State Audiology License, or IL State Audiology License obtained within 60 days of position start date if a recent graduate of an Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation-approved audiology program. - Required Documented proof of passing the PRAXIS examination upon position start date if current IL State Audiology license is not held. If an IL State Audiology License is not obtained within 60 days of position start date, employee will be subject to disciplinary action up to and including termination. - Required Current BLS Certification within 30 days of position start date.
