JOB OBJECTIVE:
The Bindery Operator is responsible for trimming product to correct size and package according to customer specifications using the cutting machine (115 Polar Cutter). The Bindery Operator is also responsible for folding products to sample provided and required finished size using the folding machine (B-30 MBO Folder). Bindery Operators also are trained on the Inkjet (Eagle 30 MCS Inkjet system) and 3125 Label Aire machines. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: 1. Prepare for the job by reviewing job specifications, schedule and making adjustments to ensure proper equipment set-up. 2. Visually inspect the inserts prior to, during and after run time to ensure they are correct and meet quality standards. 3. Reads and understands job tickets for specifications and instructions 4. Performs preventative maintenance tasks regularly to keep equipment in good working condition. Maintains records of frequently used parts, (i.e. blades, sticks etc.) and ensures they are changed appropriately. 5. Programs and operates cutters. Counts out samples of each job. 6. Set up and use the right-angle folder. 7. Set up and use of trimming and perforating attachments. QUALIFICATIONS: PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 1. Knowledge of good departmental and company safety/housekeeping/PPE practices. 2. Understands departmental procedures and policies. 3. Knowledge of terminology, job flow, job tickets and compliance with quality standards for the press area. 4. Strong mechanical aptitude. 5. Basic Math skills. 6. Basic computer knowledge. 7. Bindery/Finishing Experience required |
