Job Overview
The Publications and Forms Specialist II is responsible for the performance of administrative tasks to include electronic and manual publications and forms management, management of official records, and website management. Knowledge and working skills of military and civilian personnel procedures and information management is required. May be assigned trainer role within the scope of authority. This role is a full-time onsite role at Maxwell Air Force Base in Montgomery, Alabama. Work Model: Onsite/In-Office
Responsibilities
Essential Functions and Duties:
- Responsible for the development, design, processing and management of various publications and forms products.
- Responsible for drafting publications and forms, reviewing draft publications and forms for compliance with prescribed style, format, and legal and statutory requirements. These are for local and higher units. Posting on shared network resources.
- Strong attention-to-detail, follow-up and tracking is essential to maintain local and higher-level accountability of the forms and publications.
- Submit approved publications and forms for publishing and posting on AF-owned web sites.
- Maintain publications and forms record sets and databases. Perform training and staff assistance visits.
- Produce official base bulletin and product indices and announcements, maintain address directories and office web pages.
- Review higher headquarters publishing product announcements and make appropriate notifications to customers of listed actions.
- Provide accurate and timely customer service, to include requests for information, status, availability, and acquisition of publications and forms.
- Ensure the initiation, tracking, and annotation of publications and forms reviews.
- Responsible to perform all assigned duties in compliance with policies, directives, and procedures as safely and efficiently as possible to maintain a safe work environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned in accordance with contractual, functional, and mission requirements.
Job Requirements
Mandatory:
- Six (6) years' experience with Publications and Forms Management in a DoD or USAF environment. College level graduate work may be substituted for each year of experience.
- Proficient knowledge of military publications and forms
- Proficient knowledge of USAF Forms Design software. Adobe Experience Manager Forms Designer, desired.
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office products to include Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access.
- General PC Skills, to include the ability to enter information via keyboard.
- Excellent written and verbal skills.
- Must have the ability to effectively communicate with customers.
- Ability to obtain and maintain Secret Security Clearance.
- U.S. Citizenship.
Working Environment:
- Working environment will be 95% indoors in an office. Local travel may be required.
- Able and willing to perform shift work, stand-by/after hours and weekend work.
- Able to lift up to 30 lbs. unassisted.
- Able to reside at a desk working for extended periods of time.
