JOB DESCRIPTION:

SUMMARY OF POSITION

Provides psychiatric evaluation and ongoing treatment in a Walk-in Center and Crisis Stabilization Unit. Ensures accuracy of diagnosis and appropriate pharmacological intervention. Monitors for medication side effects. Supports appropriate multi-disciplinary interventions. Maintains the electronic medical record. Performs all above tasks under the supervision of a licensed physician and assures appropriate documentation of supervision in compliance with state regulations. Interacts with other staff in a professional manner. Participates in urgent call rotation as requested. Attends specified clinic, medical staff, and educational meetings (see addendum for meetings). This role will be part of a 24/7 on-call rotation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conducts psychiatric evaluations for referred guests to meet clinical and/or administrative requirements and initiates appropriate psychiatric treatments including psychopharmacology and ordering and interpreting laboratory studies. Conducts advanced physical assessments and referrals as indicated based on findings.
  • Reviews and signs guest care plans and documents for assigned guests as required by regulatory rules or third-party issues. Completes all documentation accurately and within expected timeframe.
  • Provides consultation to staff regarding appropriateness for admission, guest diagnosis and treatment, treatment program development, referral options, and other needs. Serves as an active participant in clinical staffing team meetings and communicates guest information as needed to the multi-disciplinary team.
  • Participates in formal weekly supervision and maintains records of physician supervision. When clinically indicated pursues additional supervision with physician and is responsive to that supervision. Practices within Centerstone's Nurse Practitioner Protocol and Formulary.
  • Attends medical staff meetings and other clinical meetings as required.
  • Meets or exceeds targeted VPU percent supervision of staff assigned under their Leadership. Compliance with annual KPI evaluations.
  • Maintains TN Board of Nursing and ANCC certification requirements including filing Notice and Formulary and completing required continuing educations.
  • The role will be part of a 24/7 on-call rotation.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Effectively communicate via written, verbal, in person and virtual methods.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education Level

Master's Degree in Nursing with specialized training and certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner required.

Years of Experience

Experience with Mental Health/Addictions within all populations, predominantly adults and geriatrics preferred.

Certification/Licensure

  • TN License as Registered Nurse
  • TN License as Advanced Practice Registered Nurse with Certificate of Fitness granting prescribing authority in accordance with state laws.
  • ANCC Certification as Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.
  • DEA number is required. New hires must have applied for a DEA number prior to beginning work.
  • CPR/BLS certification within 30 days of hire.

$99,000.00--$148,525.00
