* Base Pay Range: $79,040 - $112,985 per year, based on experience

DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION Develop strong working relationships with support departments and acts as a liaison for clinical staff in communicating with other technical staff, vendors, consultants, management and other appropriate parties. Serve as a liaison between nursing leadership, Electronic Medical Record Operations groups, and IT Medical Records committee. Actively participate in ancillary information system development during each phase of development; present nursing concerns and practice issues as appropriate for each system during their implementation and update. Maintain up to date knowledge of nursing practices, regulatory standards, and compliance standards relating to nursing information systems. Maintain up to date knowledge of trends and advances in nursing informatics, as well as hardware and software technology. Manage the development and implementation of clinical information systems related to nursing and ensure desired goals and objectives are achieved. Coordinate and participate in aspects of system analysis, planning, design, development, testing and implementation of nursing information systems. Utilize knowledge and skills in clinical practice to determine which clinical functions are suitable to clinical application and ensure information systems are consistent with professional standards of practice. Utilize Nursing Informatics Council to solicit input into the performance of the Electronic Medical Record. Assist the Center for Education and Development with staff education planning. Work with nursing to ensure that electronic systems meet the nursing needs. As nursing practice and electronic systems evolve, working with nursing and the vendor to facilitate the most efficient re-designs and changes, within the constraints of the hardware and software. Evaluate effectiveness of software applications or programs systems, devices, procedures and methods to determine if clinical needs are being met. Develop reporting mechanisms to monitor clinical and quality outcomes. May complete unit/department specific duties as outlined in department documents. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in nursing, informatics, business administration, engineering, or a related area. One (1) year of experience with clinician information systems. Five (5) years of progressively responsible RN experience, or Masters degree in a related area may be substituted for two (2) years. Missouri Board of Nursing RN or Nurse Licensure Compact multi-state RN. When primary state of residency changes, compact state RNs must apply under new state of residency within thirty (30) days. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Master of Science in Nursing, nursing informatics, or health informatics. Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.
