Market Intelligence Analyst SUMMARY Mortenson is currently seeking a Market Intelligence Analyst to support strategic planning, business development, and executive leadership with timely, actionable intelligence that informs growth opportunities, resource planning, and competitive positioning. In this role, the analyst will gather, analyze, and communicate insights related to our markets, monitor economic and construction-specific indicators, and track trends across key geographies and sectors to help forecast market conditions that impact the business. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct research on industry trends, opportunities, and competitive activity in the construction industry
- Analyze macroeconomic data and construction-specific indicators to forecast market conditions
- Monitor competitor activity, including strategic moves, partnerships, investments, and organizational changes
- Stay updated on industry news, regulatory shifts, and emerging technologies
- Provide market and competitive analysis to support enterprise strategies, including geographic and sector expansion
- Conduct qualitative research to uncover customer, competitor, and market insights
- Create and maintain reports and presentations for stakeholders and executive leadership
- Share key research takeaways with cross-functional teams to inform decision-making and promote knowledge sharing
- Utilize software platforms to streamline research and support analysis
- Build and maintain a library of market intelligence resources
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Marketing, Data Analytics, or related field
- At least 3 years of experience in market research, business intelligence, data analysis, or similar role within construction or related field
- Current driver's license
- Ability to interpret complex data sets and translate findings into business insights; experience with large or unstructured data sets is a plus
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to present insights to various audiences
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Advanced Excel skills, familiarity with CRM systems, Power BI, market intelligence platforms; experience with Microsoft Teams and SharePoint; proficiency with Python, R, SQL is a plus; adaptability to new technologies
- Knowledge of construction industry dynamics, trends, and regulatory considerations
- Strong active listening skills and effective communication; openness to diverse input and feedback
- Ability to travel up to 25%

The base pay range for this role is $74,600 - $111,900. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL - 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR - 10%, Washington, D.C. - 12.5%). Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual's knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity.
