Job Purpose / Objective:
* Accountable for a routine issuance of employee paychecks, based on a set schedule, with established practices and procedures;
* Responsible for performing all functions within the payroll process in an accurate, thorough and confidential manner for designated business units. Individual pay components may require special recordkeeping functions and quality audits to insure compliance and accuracy.
* Assist clients with requests and clarifications in a professional and timely manner

Essential Functions and Primary Duties:
* Initiate efficient communications to business unit staff in pursuit of relevant payroll documentation
* Compile payroll documentation; populate the payroll system accurately and maintain an accurate filing system for reference and compliance purposes
* Interpret and assure compliance of CBIZ policies and government regulations affecting payroll processing; comply with internal controls and procedures
* Serve as payroll liaison between staff and vendor working to resolve questions and insure accuracy; provide input to further develop accurate and efficient processes and procedures
* Produce reports per pay period and submit to controller for post-payroll audit
* Research and accurately resolve clients' service needs according to established commitments and standards
* Work as a contributing and productive member of the greater HR Department;
* Assist with new hire training and ongoing internal training as needed
* Effectively operate department hardware and software
* Additional responsibilities as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:
* High School Education or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred
* Comprehensive knowledge of payroll processing, accounting and payroll tax filing procedures
* Ability to communicate effectively with clients;
* Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of organization
* Excellent customer relation skills
* Proficient use of applicable technology; aptitude and willingness to learn CBIZ payroll system
* Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently
* Able to maintain confidential information
* Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and pay close attention to detail on many, varied tasks
