Position Summary

The Tradeshow & Events Specialist is responsible for the success of assigned tradeshows. The Tradeshow Specialist organizes and manages industry tradeshows and events in support of sales and marketing strategies in the Healthcare Products and Services business units. The major responsibility of this position is tradeshow planning, execution and post-show analysis. This position manages given tradeshow budgets to ensure that spending does not exceed the budget set for the event. This individual oversees several aspects of tradeshows including, communications, asset management, operations and logistics, graphic and design support, lead generation, preshow meetings, housing, and registration. This position also sets the tone, motivates and supports the organization and its show attendees.

This is a hybrid position - 2 days are required to be onsite at our Mentor OH location.

This position is up to 50% domestic travel.

What You'll Do As a Trade Show and Event Specialist

Tradeshow Logistics & Planning



  • Delivers assigned show strategy and logistics within budget. Utilizes team resources to maximize the impact of given budget.
    Understands the STERIS Healthcare strategy for the tradeshow and support the implementation as part of the annual planning process and operations at events


Pre-show Planning



  • Works with Sr Manager, Tradeshows, marketing and the commercial organization to ensure tradeshow booth is exhibiting the best equipment and/or solutions to achieve event objectives including revenue growth
  • Initiates action plans, planning meetings, captures meeting notes and action items, follows up with individuals as needed to ensure all action items are met
  • Manages relationship with key vendors, vendor estimates and payments
  • Manages and forecasts budgets throughout the event cycle
  • Coordinates trade show graphics needed to creative services team
  • Coordinates event schedule, logistics, exhibit house details, onsite service orders, etc.
  • Coordinates staffing logistics, including housing and registration


On-site Event Management



  • Travels to various events to ensure accurate exhibit set up and tear down, and facilitates successful hands-on and booth activity execution
  • Coordinates lead generation capture and post event distribution
  • Develops information packs, registration and staffing plans for those attending a conference
    Coordinates hotel reservations, dinner reservations and in-booth tours


Post-show Measurements



  • Facilitates the transfer of leads to the appropriate sales team(s) and/or businesses, ensuring timely receipt by the sales organizations, including accurately defined action items
  • Solicits feedback and keeps accurate records for future planning and ROI analysis
  • Facilitates invoice payment and allocation of fees to appropriate expense budgets
  • Researches additional events for consideration and follows trends in the industry
  • Coordinates regional trade show program and manages regional assets

The Experience, Skills, and Abilities Needed

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, Hospitality or related field
  • At least 3 year(s) experience in event or tradeshow planning
  • Experience managing vendors

Pay range for this opportunity is$64,250.00-$89,775.00.

Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed. Pay rates are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language fluency, etc.
