This highly visible role will help to develop and produce award-winning content that highlights Draper's culture, programs, and employees. As a Videographer you will manage all aspects of video production within Draper, from concept to execution. This role requires a creative, strategic thinker, skilled storyteller, and hands-on content creator who can work independently to develop high-quality video content that enhances Draper's brand, showcases our innovation, and engages key audiences across multiple platforms.
This position involves filming, editing, scripting, and live streaming, working closely with the communications team, subject-matter experts, and leadership. Additionally, the role supports photography efforts and ensures technical excellence in all video-related projects.
Job Description: Duties/Responsibilities
Videography: Film, edit, and produce content for internal and external distribution across digital platforms, social media, events, and marketing campaigns with limited supervision. Content Creation: Research, develop, and script compelling video stories that align with Draper's brand and strategic goals. Conduct interviews with subject-matter experts, employees, and leadership to bring stories to life. Create a library of video assets. Production: Direct video shoots, add motion graphics, captions, animations, and special effects as needed to create engaging visual narratives. This includes color correction, sound balancing, and integrating special effects to ensure all video and audio assets are of the highest quality and align with brand standards and project's vision. Live Streaming & Event Support: Manage live streaming of company events, talks, and internal communications on platforms such as Microsoft Teams and other digital channels. Ensure proper setup and execution of live production, including multi-camera setups, lighting, and sound. Studio & Equipment Management: Maintain, troubleshoot, and manage Draper's video and studio equipment, ensuring optimal performance. Oversee inventory, track purchases, and recommend new equipment upgrades when necessary. Performance Tracking & Trend Analysis: Monitor and analyze video engagement metrics, providing insights to improve content strategy. Stay updated on industry trends, new video production techniques, and emerging technologies to continuously elevate Draper's video content. Photography & Visual Content Support: Serve as a backup photographer for field and studio shoots. Assist in editing and organizing photo assets for various internal and external needs.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Strong storytelling, video production, and editing skills, with a keen eye for visual composition. Ability to work independently and collaboratively with various teams on multiple projects simultaneously. Experience making interview subjects comfortable on camera and capturing compelling footage. Deep expertise in video pre-production, production, and post-production techniques. Strong working knowledge of Adobe Premier Pro, Final Cut Pro, After Effects, cinematography, video editing, storyboarding, motion graphics, color correction. Familiarity with studio and documentary-style photography and lighting. Ability to manage deadlines effectively and adapt to fast-paced environments. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail. Stay updated with industry trends
Skills/Abilities
Experience working within an engineering, technology, or government contractor environment. Familiarity with project management tools like Monday.com and content management systems like SharePoint. Knowledge of brand storytelling, corporate communications, and social media video strategies. Understanding of copyright, licensing, and intellectual property considerations for multimedia content. Strong portfolio showcasing previous work. Attention to detail and a creative mindset. Excellent time management and organizational skills. Outstanding interpersonal skills.
