Echo Lake Foods is a growing organization, seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Supervisor to join our team. This position requires a knowledgeable and professional individual who works well with all types of employees.
Main Responsibilities Include: *Manage and direct Quality Assurance Technicians, providing coverage for the absence of key personnel. *Oversee all in-plant Food Safety and Quality issues and all Food Safety Training. *Monitor and verify HACCP critical control points daily. *Oversee and coordinate with the QA Manager the in-plant HACCP programs, develop, review and update HACCP plans. *Investigate customer complaints and assist with implementation of changes as needed in manufacturing procedures to eliminate root causes. *Verify all labeling, date coding, etc. of product of packaging is correct and accurate. *Verify all product organoleptic attributes (taste, texture, appearance, smell, etc.) and Gold Standards are being met for all products on all lines. *Assist QA Manager in maintaining Child Nutrition program *Assist QA Manager in maintaining relationships with regulatory agencies such as the FDA, WDATCP, USDA (as appropriate), etc. and keep up to date on all changes as they apply to Echo Lake Foods' products. *Continually examine and review plant processes in order to identify and remove potential areas of concern to food safety and quality as well as to continuously improve. *Assist in the development of procedures (SOPs, SSOPS, etc.) and implement them to improve food safety and other areas related to Quality Assurance and operations. *Assist the QA Manager in maintaining documentation for certifications at the plant such as GFSI (SQF), FSMA, CN, Organic and other certifications as they are implemented. Also assist in enforcing all of these programs at the plant with all Plant Management personnel. *Investigate and recommend continuing education programs for Quality Assurance technicians. *Assist QA Manager in overseeing the plant Sanitation program and Sanitation Supervisor. *Assist QA Manager in product, EMP sampling and other sampling in the plant per the written company programs for each. These job requirements are the major Quality Assurance Supervisor's responsibilities, however other duties pertaining to the Food Safety, Quality Assurance and Sanitation programs at the plant may be modified as appropriate. Minimum Experience and Education Requirements: *Must be a High School graduate or higher level of education. *Must have at least 1-2 years of Quality experience in a food plant. *Experience in managing and scheduling QA Techs in a food plant, preferred but not mandatory *Excellent communication skills *Excellent analytical and math skills. *knowledge of food plant sanitation programs and processes *knowledge of microbiological analyses *Bilingual (Spanish) preferred, but not mandatory *HACCP certified, preferred but not mandatory (will train if needed) *PCQI certified, preferred but not mandatory (will train if needed) *SQF certified, preferred but not mandatory (will train if needed) Abilities Required: *Must be physically able to walk throughout all plant areas and climb ladders and step stools as required. *Must be able to lift 30-40 lbs. *Visual and sensory acuity in order to detect food safety and quality variations/issues in food products Disclaimer The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this classification.
