About the role

We operate the data analytics platform used internally by security, application development, compliance, and more. We enable our teams to gain insight into their systems, make data driven decisions at business velocity, and reduce MTTD / MTTR.

What you will do:

  • Engage in designing, building, and operating the infrastructure that enables observability of critical assets across the organization. Ensure optimal performance and availability. Automate wherever possible. Ensure efficient use of resources and drive costs down.

  • Ensure Gartner's enterprise application environments are stable, reliable and secure. Meet and exceed SLA's/OLA's.

  • Support key partners across the business such as security, and appsdev to ensure delivery of desired business outcomes

  • Enable data driven and proactive decisions through:

  • Collaborating with other teams to understand their systems.

  • Collecting and analyzing logs, metrics, and traces from a wide range of infrastructure, applications, networks, and other sources.

  • Deriving insights from data by creating alerts, reports, and visualizations that are interactive and clear.

  • Apply debugging and troubleshooting skills to determine the root causes of issues in systems and resolve them.

  • Submit quality contributions to various code, configuration, and knowledge bases and review the contributions of others. Develop, document, and refine processes and standards.

  • Participate in team practices such as: planning, retrospectives, peer review, working sessions, etc.

  • Assist in guiding junior team members.

  • Provide status reports to the Team Manager, Director and VP of Reliability Services under Enterprise Technology and Operations.

  • Stay up to date with emerging technology and techniques. Implement and report on POC's.

What you will need:

  • Bachelor of Science or Engineering (or equivalent work experience)

  • 4-8 years in a role operating a relevant enterprise log analysis framework

  • Deep knowledge on installing, configuring, maintaining, and using observability and data analysis tools. For example: Splunk, OTEL, Cribl, Dynatrace, Grafana, Clickhouse, EMR, Catchpoint, etc.

  • Skilled in data processing, visualization and analysis with SPL(Search Processing Language) - Splunk, SQL, Regex; Javascript, Python, Bash, Powershell; HTML, CSS, Javascript; Experience using *AI/ML

  • Familiar with automation, DevOps, CI/CD, & IaC tools and practices: Terraform, Jenkins, Git, Ansible, Integrating with APIs

  • A fundamental understanding of developing and working in the cloud and with serverless and containerized technologies: AWS, Azure, S3, Lambda, Docker, Kubernetes

  • Comfortable in Linux administration and common OS troubleshooting utilities

  • Working understanding of good software, network, and systems design

  • Excellent verbal and written communication

  • Contributions meet or exceed team standards

  • Looks for opportunities to improve team and process

  • Familiar with Jira, Confluence, ServiceNow, or similar tools

  • Analytical and critical thinker

  • Team mindset: respects the time of others, communicates openly, asks questions, and takes pride in their work

  • Aptitude for learning new technologies

Gartner believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is 100,000 USD - 149,000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan. Our talent acquisition team will provide the specific opportunity on our bonus or incentive programs to eligible candidates.
