Description Maine Medical CenterManagement/Leadership OneCall Central (OCC) command center centrally facilitates Maine Medical Center Portland's (MMCP) patient flow via multiple functions: outside hospital transfers, consults, round trip management, patient bed placement, and surge planning and execution. Additionally, OneCall central's REMIS function services as a communication conduit for ambulance traffic into the hospital and supports high priority clinical programs, such as trauma, STEMI, stroke, mass casualty incident response, and internal clinical code response. Over the next few years, OneCall Central will scale to support the remaining 8 MaineHealth hospitals and will serve as a strategic operational hub for capacity management, patient flow, and patient safety across the MaineHealth system. The Manager will contribute operational optimization, performance measurement, and delivery of business services offered in the central command center. Summary: The Nurse Manager in collaboration with the Nursing Director is the vital link between the mission and vision of Maine Medical Center and the delivery of safe patient and family centered care that is compassionate, evidence-based, and provides highest quality care. Reporting through the Nursing Director, this role requires collaboration with staff, physicians, directors, other professional colleagues and occasionally senior administration, to meet the diverse and continually changing challenges of the health care environment. The Nurse Manager must be a creative, autonomous, future-oriented, risk-taking entrepreneur who applies nursing expertise, critical thinking, and effective leadership and management skills to ensure that quality care is provided through satisfied and inspired professionals on a daily basis.
