High School Healthcare Apprentice

The Baptist Health Floyd Healthcare Apprenticeship is part of a work-based learning program, typically starting
during a student's junior year in high school. During this 2-3 year program, the Healthcare Apprentice
functions as both an observer and assistant to the teams in which he/she works. Throughout the program,
Healthcare Apprentices will work under the direction of other care providers by providing delegated aspects of
direct patient care, as well as routine non-patient care department/unit maintenance tasks.

Qualifications:

• Students must be 16 years or older and currentlyenrolled in Prosser's Health Careers Program. Students generally enter the program in theirjunior year.
• BLS certification from approved BLS course required, will provide training
