Job Description

A core product team within Visa's Risk and Identity Solutions (RaIS) organization, the Bank and Issuing Risk Solutions team is committed to empowering banks and issuers in the fight against fraud. We leverage our expertise within the dynamic payments ecosystem to develop and deliver cutting-edge fraud risk solutions. Our mission is to provide tangible, value-added services that strengthen our clients' security posture and enhance their ability to confidently navigate the evolving landscape of financial crime, protect their portfolios, and enhance the efficiency of their operations.

Our team is seeking a highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented Director, Strategy Operations leader, to enable essential strategies and provide operational support for our dynamic product organization. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of our product development lifecycle, enabling our product leaders and teams to focus on innovation and delivery. They will be instrumental in streamlining processes, managing key initiatives, and facilitating communication across our 100+ person organization.

A successful candidate will act as a trusted advisor and force multiplier for the organization. They excel at navigating a multifaceted team, proactively identifying and solving complex problems, and orchestrating cross-functional teams towards shared goals. They are highly organized, possess exceptional communication and relationship-building skills across all levels, and can seamlessly blend strategic thinking with flawless tactical execution to drive initiatives, optimize processes, and ensure organizational alignment and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Planning & Alignment: Works closely w/product leadership to develop and communicate our team's long-term strategy and goals, ensuring they are clear, understood across all product teams, and aligned with broader RaIS objectives. Lead strategic planning processes and help establish key performance indicators.

  • Operational Excellence & Process Optimization: Identify, design, and implement efficient processes and best practices throughout the entire product lifecycle (following Visa Product Lifecycle Management / PLM framework) to enhance efficiency and collaboration. This involves continuously improving workflows, tools, and systems.

  • Performance Measurement & Reporting: Define, track, and analyze key metrics and KPIs to measure team effectiveness and strategic progress. Develop reports and dashboards to provide leadership with actionable insights.

  • Cross-Functional Enablement & Communication: Act as a central hub for communication, ensuring consistent information flow between product teams and other teams, and facilitating crucial meetings to ensure alignment and execution. Help scale internal product knowledge.

  • Resource Planning & Management: Collaborate on resource allocation and budget management within the team, optimizing the use of internal tools and ensuring teams have necessary resources to execute w/in their own teams.

  • Talent & Culture: Contribute to fostering a strong culture by assisting with onboarding, professional development, and knowledge-sharing within the product team.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • 10 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications

  • 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD
  • BA/BS required. Post Graduate degree in Business Administration strongly preferred
  • Experience strategy, operations, program management, or a in chief of staff role
  • Strong familiarity with the end-to-end product development lifecycle
  • Demonstrated ability to identify operational inefficiencies, design scalable processes, and implement solutions that drive tangible improvements in efficiency and collaboration
  • Experience in facilitating strategic planning processes, setting OKRs/KPIs, and translating high-level strategy into actionable operational plans and initiatives.
  • Strong team player, self-motivated, self-starter, and the ability to work independently at coordinating cross functional activities
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills are critical in this role. The role will require extensive collaboration with multiple cross functional teams.
Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 196,000.00 to 224,450.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
