Subject Matter Expert (SME) 3 - Shipboard Navy Video Distribution Systems. 6TV/7TV/14TV/23TV/27TV/Video over IP / H264 / H265 Video expert be familiar with HDBT, POE & Ethernet over COAX (EOC) transitional systems. Member will be overall responsible for erecting system configurations, developing cutover plans, providing in lab and onsite integration of video products as well as video system programming. SME will be familiar with Layer3 switch setup and will be applying security patches and retesting as needed to achieve desired results. SME2 Will provide VIDS Project Manager day-to-day support in design, engineering & execution. SME must have experience in multimedia and audio/visual control and distribution systems design projects. Should be the recognized expert who has demonstrated industry and public service leadership in C41SR systems. This position reports directly to the VIDS Group in Chesapeake, VA.

Work Model: Onsite

• Working with NIWC Atlantic and other technical codes, program/project managers, and SMEs, the Subject Matter Expert (SME) 3 will assist with the installation, planning, testing, and integration of complex audio-visual displays, various communication and electronic warfare systems, related ancillary and computer-based systems onboard naval ships and command centers worldwide.

We expect this employee to have experience working in or around industrial environments such as shipyards, Naval/Coast Guard bases, and piers.

• We expect the employee to be a self-starter and to pursue self-education to remain current with industry trends, new technology, new equipment, and capabilities.
• We expect the employee to keep managers and supervisors apprised of their progress, maintain the ability to work well with others, adhere to contract requirements, and comply with company policies and procedures.
• Recognized expert who has demonstrated industry and public service leadership in C4ISR systems.

• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Must be able to attain a Secret clearance (for continued employment) - Security Clearance not required to apply for position.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Technical Training from: Technical School, or Class A or B military school in Electronics.
• One of these CERTIFICATIONS is required:
  • CompTIA A+
  • CompTIA Sec+
  • CompTIA Net+
  • AVIXIA (CTS, CTS-D, or CTS-I) Certifications.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Field Experience.
• Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment background check and pre-hire drug test.

• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment is crucial.

Working Conditions:

• Must be able to work outdoors.
• Must be able to tolerate heat.
• Comfortable working around exposures to hazards.
• Ability to work in low-lit areas for long periods of time.
• Occasional travel may be required
