The Information Technology Support Associate (ITSA) supports the implementation and operation of a generative AI patient simulation platform integrated throughout the Year 2 medical curriculum. This includes maintaining classroom AV infrastructure, managing real-time simulation interactions, and assisting with the onboarding and support of faculty, tutors, and students in using AI-based educational tools. Under administrative direction from the Dr. Richard Selinfreund Associate this position assists AI simulated patient development for the medical school..

- Serve as the primary IT support contact for AI patient simulation sessions throughout the Year 2 rollout.
- Configure and maintain all tutor room AV equipment, including webcams, speakers, microphones, and simulation terminals.
- Conduct pre-launch testing of simulation environments to verify readiness for HII, CRR, NMB, and ERG case activations.
- Support real-time AI platform interactions between students and simulated patients, troubleshooting audio/video or connectivity issues.
- Coordinate with simulation faculty and tutors to schedule technical support and ensure platform reliability during student sessions.
- Assist with onboarding and training faculty, tutors, and staff on the use of RavenAI and related AI educational tools.
- Maintain logs of technical issues and resolutions for continuous quality improvement.
- Interface with RavenAI and SIU's internal IT teams to escalate issues and deploy updates.
- Ensure compliance with data security, privacy standards, and simulation integrity policies.

CREDENTIALS TO BE VERIFIED BY PLACEMENT OFFICER
- . High school diploma or equivalent.
Bachelors in linguistics, literature, writing, Artificial Intelligence, Information Technology (IT), IT Management, Programming, IT Systems, or a closely related discipline. 1 year of work experience working with large language models (e.g., GPT-4, Claude, LLaMA).
