About This Opportunity

JOB TITLE: Safety Supervisor
POSITION TYPE: Full time
CLASSIFICATION: Exempt

Monday - Friday

Position Overview:

The Safety Supervisor will collaborate with management, production teams, and other departments to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, policies, and procedures. This role is pivotal in maintaining a safe working environment, fostering a culture of safety, and ensuring that all training initiatives align with regulatory standards.

Key Accountabilities:

Safety Compliance and Audits:

  • Ensure compliance with the Safety Action Plan (SAP) and relevant safety regulations.

  • Facilitate unannounced safety audits and inspections across all shifts and office areas.

  • Facilitate the updating and review of Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) for each operation, ensuring they are current and comprehensive.

Training and Development:

  • Lead the implementation of the Foremost Farms safety program across all departments.

  • Facilitate safety training sessions for employees to ensure compliance with regulatory standards, enhance safety proficiency, and promote a strong safety culture.

  • Develop and maintain training schedules for all company departments, ensuring that all employees receive timely and relevant safety training.

  • Design and deliver training for new hires on company policies, procedures, and safety protocols using the most effective training methods for each audience.

Record-Keeping and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate safety and training records required by corporate, regulatory, and other governing bodies.

  • Track and report on the effectiveness and outcomes of all training programs.

  • Collect feedback from employees and management on training effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Gather and analyze feedback from training sessions to identify gaps or weaknesses in the current training program.

  • Recommend and implement improvements to training materials, methods, and processes to enhance overall safety awareness and compliance.

  • Active and engaged member of the environmental team.

This role is accountable for ensuring that monitoring and/or verifying of control points occurs and that the required documentation is completed. For example, Critical Control Points(CCP), Preventive Controls(PC), Critical Quality Points(CQP), Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points(HACCP), and Safe Quality Food(SQF) plans.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. High school diploma/GED

  2. 1 year of job-related experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. 3 years of job-related experience

  2. Bachelor's degree in related field

  3. Proven experience in safety program management, training, and compliance.

  4. Strong understanding of safety regulations, policies, and procedures.

  5. Ability to lead and facilitate engaging and effective training sessions.

  6. Excellent communication and organizational skills.

  7. Detail-oriented with a strong ability to maintain records and generate reports.

  8. Ability to work effectively with diverse teams, from production employees to management.
