Job Title: Asset & Wealth Management Client Communications Vice President Location: New York Regular/Temporary: Regular
Role Summary
This role will lead client communications within the Asset Management marketing team and play a key role in developing the strategy, narrative and execution for Asset Management client communications. They will partner with client-facing business leaders, investment teams, internal communications and the corporate (firmwide) communications team, working with multiple stakeholders across the division and firm to build alignment. Topics of communication may include organizational updates (e.g., acquisitions or investment team changes), product developments, significant market events or regulatory changes, or press coverage. The role will work across the Asset Management marketing team and partner with internal communications and corporate communications teams to help develop messaging and communication strategy for our clients through internal and external communication channels. Position Responsibilities
- Communication strategy development and implementation: Working across client channels and products, assess need for communications, identify opportunities or situations for client communication engagement, determining target audience/impact (e.g., any country-specific considerations) and plan for implementation.
- Collateral: Develop and create relevant collateral/communications toolkit (e.g., key messages/talking points, FAQs, client letters) in collaboration with relevant business partners; work closely with respective teams to craft press releases, social posts and internal communications as needed.
- Alignment: Drive and oversee various reviews, approvals, fact-checking and proofing for full set of communications, vetting feedback and ensuring alignment with stakeholders.
- Ongoing monitoring: Partner with sales team management to understand significant client feedback and work with client teams as need on follow-ups that require additional messaging.
- Communications calendar: Map out communications in a strategic and thoughtful manner, with the goal of optimizing client and sales team experience as well as potential media/press coverage outcomes
- Media: Partner with Media Relations on divisional earned media and press activities to help drive strategy and messaging, and including amplification of certain conferences and awards
- Social media: Partner with Social Media lead when relevant to ensure appropriate messaging is reflected in any social amplification of communications or press
- Risk management: Maintaining strict adherence to regulatory and procedural guidelines for all marketing communications including proactive management of operational risk.
- Team effectiveness: Drive operational efficiency of the communications process and team, ensuring they can work effectively and operate at scale. Seek to improve processes and establish best practices for teams who engage in client communications.
- Partnership and collaboration: Develop and maintain strong relationships with other Asset Management marketing leaders, EO marketing partners, Internal Communications, Corporate Communications, sales and investment heads, and key senior stakeholders across the global organization.
Qualifications
- 8+ years in a similar client communications role within a comparable leading financial institution with an outstanding track record with measurable impacts and achievements
- Deep understanding of the various types of Asset Management clients and the sales teams who cover them, with the ability to proactively identify and anticipate their questions, needs, concerns or impacts related to changes
- Strong editorial judgment, writing skills and attention to detail in all aspects of work, within communications themselves and in execution of the communication strategy
- Ability to write in an organized, thoughtful, and well-reasoned manner, synthesizing complex information from multiple sources to develop clear and concise messaging that is relevant for our clients and easy to understand
- Ability to work at varying speeds and under timeframe pressure, while maintaining extremely high standards; ability to quickly pivot strategy and plans based on new information
- In-depth knowledge of the asset management industry: clients, products, regulations, competitors
- Well-developed strategic thinking with commercial awareness and business acumen
- Experience working across multiple stakeholders, including senior leadership, managing conflicting opinions and problem solving to reach a solution
- Previous experience working closely with public relations and/or social media teams, and an awareness of how to market and communicate effectively within those channels is also helpful
- Demonstrated communication and integrated marketing skills across strategy and execution; ability to leverage subject matter experts throughout broader organization in pursuit of effective outcomes
- Demonstrable track record of working effectively across matrixed, complex organizations with excellent communication, influencing and presentation skills as well as the ability to engage with partners at all levels
- Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS); MBA and/or CFA preferred

Salary Range The expected base salary for this New York, New York, United States-based position is $125000-$250000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
