Maintenance Chief Pay Grade: 618 Location: Reservoirs Vacancy Announcement Nature Of The Work Safety Sensitive Position WC - 9102 Brief Description The purpose of this position is to oversee the daily operation and scheduled work of maintenance crews for the Brazos River Authority (BRA). This is accomplished by overseeing maintenance crews; planning, scheduling and prioritizing all work performed by the maintenance department; overseeing operations and maintenance of public use areas; and ensuring adequate equipment and supplies are available when needed. Responsibilities include maintaining a safety-oriented workplace; overseeing heavy equipment operation; overseeing construction activities; facilitating employee training; purchasing equipment, tools and materials for projects; maintaining records and reports; monitoring; and providing input into the budget. Other duties include interacting with other supervisors, contractors, county employees, and the public; supporting other BRA maintenance departments; being on call and available to work when required including working some weekends and holidays; operating flood gates; providing various maintenance to the BRA facilities, dams, and property; and any other duties as assigned.
