Spectra Tech, Inc. is actively looking for a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer in Portsmouth, NH.

Position Overview

Under limited supervision, performs quality assurance support for the Quality Assurance (QA) team. Typical job duties are routine and require use of standard techniques and procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for preparation of quality assurance documents and procedures and assisting all levels of project personnel in quality-related matters
  • Performs surveillance and inspections in accordance with site or department procedure. Provide the results of these assessments and proposed corrective actions, if needed, to line management
  • Inspects material and equipment for compliance to purchase order specification and applicable quality requirements
  • Assists project management in developing an orientation program to ensure project teams are familiar with the requirements of the Project Quality Plan
  • Decision-making authority and recommendations which have a significant impact on project quality policies and programs
  • Serves as the project QA Lead on projects as assigned
  • Serves as the QA Manager for medium-sized projects as assigned
  • Acts as lead quality auditor, and follows up on audit findings and corrective actions
  • Prepares project audit schedules, discipline activity plans for the QA function, and audit reports (internal and external), noting nonconformances and verifying effective corrective action
  • Responsible for providing direction, training and evaluation of the QA team
  • Assists in the maintenance of project QA/PA records for all phases of the project
  • Assists with maintaining positive employee relations
  • Responsible for providing technical and administrative direction to direct reports
  • Provides mentoring/people development for direct reports
  • Provides assigned technical, administrative or functional support to the management team
  • Liaison with individuals and units within or outside division or project structures
  • Responsible for technical and administrative functions (e.g., planning, organizing, interpreting, coordinating, and executing division and project assignments)
  • Responsible for planning and execution of a wide variety of technical and administrative assignments
  • Assists with instructing employees on the work methods and performance expectations
  • Assists with providing leadership and motivation to subordinate personnel
  • Performs duties complex in nature
  • Other job-related duties as assigned
  • Maintains knowledge of and demonstrates ability to perform work safely in accordance with all approved safety policies, procedures and applicable regulations and performs assigned duties in a safe manner
  • Serve as a QA Specialist - Technical Support for Category 2 Non-Nuclear Reactor Facilities in accordance with DOE O 426.2.
  • Actively participates in Safety Work Groups
Minimum Requirements
  • BA/BS degree in a related field and 9 years of related experience and 1 year Nuclear, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Typical experience ranges from 9 - 14 years.
  • DOE O 426 QA Technical Support Qualifications apply (BS, 2 years job-related and 1 year Nuclear Facility experience)
  • Strong interpersonal/communication skills
  • Strong PC skills including Microsoft applications
  • Detail oriented
