About Salesforce

We're Salesforce, the Customer Company, inspiring the future of business with AI+ Data +CRM. Leading with our core values, we help companies across every industry blaze new trails and connect with customers in a whole new way. And, we empower you to be a Trailblazer, too - driving your performance and career growth, charting new paths, and improving the state of the world. If you believe in business as the greatest platform for change and in companies doing well and doing good - you've come to the right place.

We're looking for a senior engineering leader to drive the next wave of innovation in Salesforce Field Service Mobile, a mission-critical app used by hundreds of thousands of technicians worldwide.

Our goal: deliver intelligent, offline-first, mobile-first experiences that help field workers do their jobs better, even in remote and disconnected environments. This role leads our AI and Offline team in San Francisco, and is pivotal in our strategy to bring Agentforce to the edge-enabling on-device AI for technicians across industries like energy, utilities, and manufacturing.

About the Role

As Director of Engineering for AI & Offline, you'll manage multiple high-performing mobile and services engineering teams. You'll partner across Salesforce's AI Platform, Mobile Platform, and Field Service teams to deliver AI-powered mobile features that work reliably offline.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Set direction for AI and offline feature delivery, aligned with our vision for an intelligent mobile field service.

  • AI + Mobile Execution: Deliver features like voice-driven workflows, intelligent agents, and on-device inference in partnership with AI Research and Platform teams.

  • Team Leadership: Grow and coach a team of managers and engineers. Match individual strengths to meaningful, high-impact work.

  • Cross-functional Partnership: Collaborate with UX, PM, and platform teams to ship user-centered AI experiences that work offline and scale globally.

  • Architecture & Delivery: Oversee architectural direction and release execution for both iOS and Android platforms, including services. Maintain high bars for quality, performance, and security.

What We're Looking For

  • Mobile + AI Expertise: Experience with both domains is ideal. Strong depth in one, with the ability to ramp on the other, is acceptable.

  • Technical Leadership: 13+ years in software engineering, including 5+ years managing teams. Hands-on knowledge of iOS and Android architectures, mobile offline strategies, and real-world deployment constraints.

  • Product Thinking: You lead with user needs and can shape roadmap and delivery plans to match business impact.

  • Cross-org Influence: You've driven major features or platform initiatives across functions and orgs.

  • Strong Communication: You're comfortable navigating ambiguity, aligning stakeholders, and representing your team at the executive level.

Why Join Us

  • Massive Reach: Support hundreds of thousands monthly active users - with mission-critical workloads.

  • Real-World Impact: Keep critical infrastructure running with tools that directly affect frontline work.

  • Innovation Groundwork: Join a team that has already delivered production AI and offline features, and is positioned for deeper investment.

  • Cross-Salesforce Collaboration: Work with AI Research, AI Platform, Mobile Platform, and partners like Apple to shape enterprise-grade mobile AI.

  • Executive Visibility: Represent the mobile org in San Francisco and help shape one of Salesforce's fastest-growing product areas.
