A Brief Overview The Feeding Day Hospital Supervisor is responsible for the day to day operations within Feeding Day Hospital at the Philadelphia campus. The Supervisor acts as a liaison between: Feeding Clinic and Feeding Day Hospital; Day Hospital leadership and the Day Hospital clinical staff; and among Day Hospital, Financial Clearance, and patient families. Responsibilities include triaging of patients as they flow from Feeding Clinic through to Day Hospital, direct supervision of clinical feeding specialists, creation of employee and patient/family training programs, and development of quality assurance and process improvement projects. The Supervisor will act as an effective role model within the Feeding Center contributing to the education, training, development, and positive morale of staff. The Supervisor will also provide direct patient care, carrying out the behavioral plans developed by the psychologists, and participating in caregiver training. The Day Hospital Supervisor will serve as the point person for the Feeding Center to ensure Joint Commission readiness.
What you will do
- Feeding Day Hospital Operations
- Manage the census of the Feeding Day Hospital, including patient access and flow from Feeding Clinic referral, to Day Hospital readiness, to admission and follow-up. Liaison between financial clearance team and families. Monitor and ensure that census remains at or above budgeted target.
- Assist families as they navigate between Feeding Clinic and Feeding Day Hospital; work interactively and sensitively with parents to provide training and support in the context of the Day Hospital admission.
- Develop procedures and job aids to clarify clinical and operational models, and to support Center policies related to Feeding Day Hospital.
- Respond promptly and positively to escalated concerns with patients, families, associates, and others in a courteous and confidential manner while following hospital and departmental procedures.
- Solicit feedback on Day Hospital practice from families and other stakeholders to inform and develop operational and clinical care processes and quality improvement projects.
- Ensure management, maintenance and inventory of Day Hospital supplies, equipment and resources, consistent with practice needs and regulatory requirements. Regularly update the team on changes and updates in regulatory policies and procedures.
- Participate as a leadership figure in staff meetings, committees, QA projects, and teams in a collaborative manner in order to attain institutional and departmental goals. Provide support to Center leadership for all Center goals and endeavors.
- Supervision
- Ensure that feeding specialists provide care as outlined in the patient care plan, in a developmentally appropriate manner, and consistent with CHOP values and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct behavior skills training for staff on implementation of behavior support plans.
- Coach direct reports in creating clinical and professional growth goals as tied to Center and organizational priorities. Orient new staff and perform annual and semi-annual performance reviews of feeding specialists.
- Create and adjust schedules for feeding specialists. Assign operational responsibilities to support clinic practice and outcomes.
- Clinical Care
- Participate in direct patient care alongside the clinical feeding specialists, and serve as the primary clinical feeding specialist to assigned patients and their caregivers.
- Demonstrate adept knowledge and ability to deliver developmental and age-appropriate care to patients.
- Document in Epic notes and reports in a clear, concise, timely and efficient manner.
Education Qualifications
- Master's Degree Psychology, Behavioral Analysis or Education Required
Experience Qualifications
- At least two (2) years Post-masters experience providing behavior analysis treatment including experimental functional analysis, data analysis, significant behavior challenges and intensive behavior intervention programming in line with current research standards - Required
- At least two (2) years Experience with principles of behavioral intervention or applied behavior analysis in young children (ages birth through elementary school) - Preferred
- Experience in assessment and treatment of severe behavior disorders - Preferred
- Previous experience managing children with behavioral feeding difficulties - Preferred
- Previous supervisory and clinic or care coordination experience - Preferred

- Demonstrated leadership experience with teams and/or projects, including developing staff (Required proficiency)

Licenses and Certifications
- Board Certified Behavior Analyst - Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) - upon hire - Required
