Why this job matters:

Lead the assessment of current state marketplace trends and competitive activities to identify gaps in corporate and divisional plans. Assess existing organization project portfolio; ensure projects add value to organization and contribute to the achievement of key performance indicators. Collaborate with division leaders to create mitigation strategies and ensure achievement of corporate and divisional goals. Conduct research for short and long-range corporate strategy development. Train and mentor less experienced staff.

What you'll do:



  • Identify and assess competitive gaps in corporate and divisional strategic plans. Collaborate with division leaders to develop mitigation strategies and identify investment strategies to ensure achievement of objectives. Assess impacts to the customer and provider experience and overall corporate position.
  • Lead development of Quarterly Business Review.
  • Develop short-range strategy plans (one to two year) and long-range strategic plans (four to five years) and assess implementation each year to determine evolution of yearly corporate strategy. Provide recommendations for future strategy development based on corporate and divisional performance against objectives.
  • Develop effective communication pieces to present short-range and long-range planning proposals to key stakeholders including senior management and Board of Directors.
  • Assess existing organization project portfolio; ensure projects add value to organization and contribute to achieving key performance indicators. Collaborate with Enterprise Project Management Office to ensure projects achieve expected business results.
  • Mentor less experienced staff.
  • Lead department projects and initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


What you need to succeed:



  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, Marketing, or other analytical discipline; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Seven to ten years experience in market research or a strategic planning capacity

Location:

BCBSRI is headquartered in downtown Providence, conveniently located near the train station and bus terminal. We actively support associate well-being and work/life balance and offer the following schedules, based on role:



  • In-office: onsite 5 days per week
  • Hybrid: onsite 2-4 days per week
  • Remote: onsite 0-1 days per week. Permitted to reside in the following states, pending approval from the Human Resources Department: Arizona, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Massachusetts, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia
