Purpose of Position Management and oversight in the areas of financial reporting specific to GASB requirements. Essential Functions Provides management and oversight of all GASB pronouncements ensuring that UTS has followed GASB requirements Assists in the preparation of the consolidated Annual Financial Report Responsible for training and sharing pertinent GASB information to 14 institutions and System Administration Responsible for leading the restatement of financial reports when required by GASB Manages, conducts performance plans and reviews for staff that work on GASB projects Works closely with external vendors that specialize in GASB Responsible for dashboard reporting and consolidated reporting for 14 institutions in the area of GASB Actively reviews current financial reporting procedures and processes for automated workflow improvements Other duties and special projects as assigned. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Financial acumen Strong communication skills Attention to detail Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree and 10 years or more of experience in accounting or related field. Preferred Qualifications Hyperion Financial Management experience Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) knowledge PeopleSoft experience Working Conditions Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation Uses standard office equipment Requires occasional evening or weekend hours Additional Information The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to a minimum of 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length. Participation in TRS is mandatory. A background check will be conducted on candidates under final consideration.
