About the Role:

As a technical project manager, you will collaborate with team members to conceptualize, deliver, and support our clients through today's ever-changing healthcare landscape. NYSTEC is considered a trusted advisor, providing subject matter expertise and connecting the dots for our clients. NYSTEC has served in various roles across a multitude of New York State healthcare technology programs, such as the Medicaid Data Warehouse (MDW) and Electronic Medicaid for New York (eMedNY) systems.


Serving as a technical project manager, your day-to-day role as a NYSTEC consultant will include working with partners and stakeholders to drive healthcare technology initiatives, such as migrating data sources to a cloud environment, by applying oversight, critical and cross-systems thinking, and problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities

  • Tracking, estimating, and communicating project timelines.
  • Anticipating and communicating issues/risks - and identifying the system impacts of each.
  • Developing and maintaining key technical documentation with the project business analyst, as needed.
  • Delegating and overseeing tasks.
  • Eliciting and documenting business requirements with the project business analyst, as needed.
  • Conducting oversight of testing and quality assurance activities.
  • Driving system design and client/vendor management.


About you:
Required Qualifications

  • Experience with system development life cycle (SDLC) activities to manage, plan, design, implement, test, and deliver information systems and strategies.
  • Experience as a manager of technical projects.
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite of products.
  • Critical thinking, problem solving, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to develop relationships with stakeholders and to understand their needs through excellent listening and effective written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to prioritize and understand the needs of stakeholders and communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to manage system integration vendors who deliver software and services. This includes ensuring that the services and outcomes delivered meet the needs of our clients and service level agreements.


Preferred/Desired Qualifications

  • Project management professional (PMP) and/or certified scrum master (CSM) certification.
  • Master's degree in business, technical, scientific, or a related discipline.
  • Experience with vendor management and driving projects with many stakeholders.
  • Experience with cloud technologies, such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud, or Microsoft Azure.


Education and Experience

  • A bachelor's degree in business, technical, scientific or a related discipline and 10 years of experience in technical project management.
  • An equivalent combination of advanced education, training, and experience will be considered.


The target base salary for this position $105,000.00 to $145,000.00. When determining compensation, we analyze and carefully consider several factors, including skill set, experience, location, and job-related qualifications.
