Avantor is seeking a dynamic and strategic Senior Manager, Events to lead the development and execution of high-impact, hosted events that strengthen Avantor's brand, engage key stakeholders, and drive business growth. This role requires expertise in strategic event design, messaging, and logistics, as well as experience in sourcing and partnering with external event agencies to ensure best-in-class execution. The ideal candidate will be a visionary event strategist with a proven track record of leading large-scale corporate events, fostering cross-functional collaboration, and delivering exceptional attendee experiences that align with Avantor's business objectives.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in project management, brand management, communications and event planning and execution. They must also demonstrate the ability to collaborate effectively across many departments in a matrixed environment.

The role will build an integrated, strategic and consistent approach to Avantor's event planning and

drive measurable execution for the regions and businesses supported.

The role will partner with other members of Avantor's Global Communications & Brand team to deliver exceptional program execution and measurement, and report results on an ongoing basis.

The role will report to the Head of Commercial Communications and be REMOTE.

What we're looking for:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, Event Management or a related field
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in corporate event management, event planning, with a focus on high-profile, hosted events.

Who you are:

  • Proven success in managing large-scale events, from concept to execution, with measurable business impact.
  • Experience working with and managing external event agencies, production companies, and vendors.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to oversee multiple events and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Strong leadership, collaboration, and communication skills to engage stakeholders at all levels with a talent for building relationships and influencing stakeholders at all levels.
  • Solid experience in matrix organizations and exposure to business operations
  • Proficiency in event management software and digital engagement tools.
  • Willingness to travel as required to support venue sourcing and event execution.
  • Global experience is a plus

How you will thrive and create an impact:

  • Lead team managing end-to-end planning and execution of Avantor's events in Europe and North America, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and brand standards to support advancement of our business and our brand * Develop and implement a comprehensive event strategy that aligns with Avantor's commercial goals and brand positioning.
  • Define event themes, messaging, and program structure to ensure a consistent, compelling, and results-driven experience.
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and success metrics for each event, ensuring measurable impact and continuous improvement.
  • Partner closely with marketing, sales, and executive leadership to align event objectives with business priorities.
  • Source, negotiate, and manage relationships with top-tier event agencies, venues, and related partners to execute best-in-class events.
  • Ensure external partners uphold Avantor's brand standards, customer experience expectations, and operational excellence.
  • Research and integrate industry best practices to continuously enhance event impact and efficiency.
  • Develop and manage event budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness while maintaining high-quality execution.
  • Other duties as assigned
