This is a grant funded position and is not eligible for severance pay. In addition, it is a one year limited term position.

Tufts University School of Dental Medicine (TUSDM) offers one of the most forward-looking educational environments in dental medicine in the country. What You'll Do

  • Under supervision of the Principal Investigator, the Senior Research Technician will conduct a variety of routine experiments by following established procedures and protocols including: performing assays, tissue culture, electrophoresis and other laboratory techniques.
  • The tools and methods routinely employed in the lab include western blotting, RT-PCR, transgenic animal models, animal surgery and experimental pathology, histomorphometry, immunohistochemistry, cell and tissue culture and signal transduction pathways.
  • Other research duties may include recording test results and analyzing data using basic statistics and monitoring animal colonies.
  • May also coordinate department projects or programs, which may entail assisting with development of materials and brochures, updating web information and assisting with content and design.
  • May also coordinate lab outreach and student research internship programs, which may entail assisting with development of materials and updating web information.
  • Monitor laboratory operations by ordering supplies, maintaining equipment, managing lab space and cleanliness and following laboratory safety protocols.
  • Performs other duties as required.

What We're Looking For

Basic Requirements:

  • Knowledge and skills as typically acquired through completion of a Bachelor's degree in science and at least one year of related laboratory experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced knowledge and experience with laboratory techniques and procedures.
  • Knowledge of basic statistics.

Pay Range

Minimum $24.30, Midpoint $28.90, Maximum $33.50

Salary is based on related experience, expertise, and internal equity; generally, new hires can expect pay between the minimum and midpoint of the range.
