The Lead Release Train Engineer (RTE) is assigned to a specific division or business line(s) and is responsible for ensuring that the grouping of Agile delivery teams supporting their assigned area (also known as the Agile Release Train or ART), works well together and follows Agile processes. This critical, IT-based role partners closely with the VP of IT to ensure that the teams who comprise their ART collaborate effectively and successfully deliver against divisional roadmaps. The RTE also supports the alignment of technology solutions to business goals and further enables their ART's success by managing risks, dependencies, and roadblocks.
The RTE works closely with the VP of IT, Stakeholders, Planning Managers, Product Owners, Scrum Masters, Project Managers, Business Systems Analysts, Architects and delivery team members to help ensure IT's thorough understanding of divisional roadmaps to successfully deliver work as committed. They support the translation of IT roadmaps into actionable projects, business requirements gathering, epic aggregation, and feature estimation efforts. They actively participate in IT planning efforts, steering committee sessions, and IT Team of Teams meetings, as well as other applicable events. They lead regularly occurring ART synchronization routines, including scrum of scrums. Additionally, they take steps necessary to stay informed on efforts in execution and organize and present ongoing delivery updates to stakeholders by way of solution demonstrations and other methods.
The RTE utilizes Azure DevOps to ensure all work is adequately documented so that quality metrics can be obtained. They consistently adhere to Agile best practices and coach leaders and team members on Agile methods and mindsets. Overall, the RTE promotes a culture of continuous improvement by leveraging Agile principles and techniques to increase collaboration, predictability, transparency, velocity, and value.
Guide the Agile Release Train
Protective's targeted salary range for this position is $107,000 to $164,000. Actual salaries may vary depending on factors, including but not limited to, job location, skills, and experience. The range listed is just one component of Protective's total compensation package for employees.
This position also offers additional incentive opportunities through an annual incentive based on individual and Company performance.
