Description

Position Summary:

The Communication Manager is responsible for planning, implementation, and evaluation of internal and external communications, social media, website, intranet, marketing materials, and implementing fundraising appeals. This position will develop and maintain relationships with media outlets and other vital relationships to further Catholic Charities' mission, and completing other tasks as assigned by the Director of Advancement.

Additionally, this position will work closely with the Fundraising Manager executing both the Communication and Development Plans specifically in the area of implementing fundraising appeals. Services shall be always performed in accordance with Catholic Charities mission and standards of professional conduct.

Responsibilities:

Develop and execute comprehensive internal and external communication plans that align with organizational goals and initiatives.



  • Develop and execute communication strategies that enhance mission and programs.
  • Coordinate and manage communication campaigns and promotional activities across digital and traditional platforms.
  • Monitor and analyze communication metrics to measure success and strategic plan goals.


Create, edit, publish and/or distribute content across various platforms and types of communication materials, including press releases, newsletters, social media, blogs and other collateral materials that align with brand voice and messaging.



  • Collaborate with internal program managers and directors to gather insights and ensure messaging consistency across all communication.
  • Oversee communications policies and agency style guide to maintain unified style and branding for all publications.
  • Provide guidance and training to internal teams on effective communication practices.
  • Responsible for maintaining catholiccharitiescw.org website, CC Connect intranet and maintaining and monitoring all social media accounts.


Manage media relations, including building and nurturing relationships with journalists and news media in Central Washington



  • Monitor and analyze media coverage, providing insights and recommendations for strategic adjustments.
  • Lead crisis communication efforts, ensuring timely and transparent messaging during challenging situations.


Organize and promote events and campaigns that enhance community engagement and visibility of Catholic Charities' services



  • Be aware of program events and newsworthy items to communicate.
  • Promote the organization to its own staff, donors, community partners, and increase public awareness.
  • Monitor Google and other review platforms to maintain high and consistent scores.


Supervise Communication team and participate in Advancement team meetings



  • Conduct annual performance evaluation according to the agency guidelines and set goals for individual and team performance
  • Provide close oversight and supervision of staff, including scheduling, designation of responsibilities, providing feedback, developing growth plans, and documenting performance


Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

Physical Requirements:

These physical demands are required up to 90% of the time.

Non-Physical Requirements:

Education



  • Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing or related field


Experience



  • Five or more years' experience in a communication role with a proven track record of successful content creation required
  • Proven track record in developing and implementing successful communication strategies
  • Strong understanding of digital communication platforms and social media trends
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging for different audiences
  • Experience in a leadership role withing a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Familiarity with crisis communication strategies and best practices
  • Experience with measurement and analytics tools to assess communication effectiveness


Special Skills:



  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
  • Demonstrated proficiency in graphic design and marketing techniques
  • Engaging the community and representing the agency in a professional manner
  • Passion and investment in the Catholic Charities Serving Central Washington Mission
  • Bilingual/Biliterate (English/Spanish) preferred, but not required


Licensure, Registration, Certification



  • Valid Washington State driver's license and minimum required liability insurance for WA State
  • Must be deemed insurable as determined by Catholic Charities liability insurance provider


Employment is conditional upon:



  • Being cleared by criminal background check and fingerprinting when required



Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm

Wage Range:$36.06 - $39.44 per hour depending on experience
