INTRO TO POSITION

We are seeking a Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist to join our high-impact Talent Acquisition team for six months. This role is responsible for leading full-cycle recruitment for a range of positions, from creative content makers and journalists to technical and business operations roles. You'll be the strategic hiring partner to leadership teams, ensuring a seamless, inclusive, and data-driven hiring process.

The anticipated start date for the Temporary Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist opportunity is July 2025. The hiring manager will determine the exact start date in collaboration with the finalist candidate.


RESPONSIBILITIES

Recruitment & Hiring



  • Manage full cycle recruiting for 50+ requisitions across various departments including content, operations, and leadership roles.
  • Partner with hiring managers to develop and execute tailored recruiting strategies, including sourcing, interview plan design, and closing top talent.
  • Drive building talent pipelines through creative sourcing, networking and community engagement.
  • Lead kickoff meetings to clarify job scopes and competencies, recruitment timelines, communication plan and optimizing on best practices to build trust with hiring managers and the People Team.
  • Deliver exceptional candidate experiences, ensuring consistent communication and professional representation of our brand.


Systems & Compliance



  • Serve as an expert user of Greenhouse ATS and Greenhouse Onboarding, including building and reviewing requisitions, structuring interview plans and scorecards, maintaining compliant documentation and generating reports.
  • Ensure all recruitment activities are fully compliant with EEOC, OFCCP, collective bargaining agreements and company anti-harassment policies, with a strong focus on equitable hiring practices.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date candidate and requisition data to support reporting and workforce planning initiatives.


Stakeholder & Project Management



  • Advise and coach hiring managers on interviewing techniques, bias mitigation, and candidate assessment.
  • Partner with People Team leaders and colleagues on onboarding transitions, compensation alignment, and workforce initiatives.
  • Contribute to TA process improvements, training, and employer branding projects.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of full-cycle talent acquisition experience, ideally within media, entertainment, creative, or technology industries.
  • Recruiting certification required (AIRS, SHRM, HCI, or equivalent).
  • Expert-level proficiency in Greenhouse ATS and Greenhouse Onboarding - you know how to optimize workflows, build structured interview kits, and leverage data.
  • Demonstrated success filling a high volume of specialized roles, including senior-level positions.
  • Strong consultative skills - ability to build trust and influence at all levels of the organization.
  • Proven ability to manage 20+ concurrent requisitions without compromising candidate or stakeholder experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a commitment to proactive, transparent and inclusive communication.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous experience in broadcast media, public media, or journalism-focused organizations.
  • Knowledge of diversity hiring best practices and sourcing techniques.
  • Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., Asana, Trello, or similar).


EDUCATION REQUIREMENT

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in work experience.


WORK LOCATION

  • Remote Permitted: This is a remote-permitted role. It is based out of our Washington, DC office, but the employee may choose to work from a location that NPR approves.

JOB TYPE

  • This is a temporary (6-month) full-time position.


COMPENSATION

The U.S.-based anticipated hourly rate for this opportunity is $62.12 per hour. The rate displayed reflects the maximum hourly rate NPR expects to provide for new hires for the position across all US locations.

Regular, full-time employees scheduled to work 30 hours or more per week are eligible to enroll in NPR's benefits options.
