I. JOB SUMMARY The Payroll Supervisor is responsible for managing and administering the payroll process, ensuring compliance with federal, state and local laws as well as corporate policies. The position manages and maintains the ADP payroll system, including its interaction with other applications, primarily Workday and SAP. The position also performs some accounting functions, prepares payroll reports, and assists with the budget and forecasting process. Experience with international payroll oversight, especially Canada, is a plus as the Payroll Supervisor may support other Bora locations. II. Payroll Administration * Independently manages and administers multi-state and multi-site payroll process in accordance with internal controls using ADP to ensure the accurate and timely maintenance and processing of biweekly salaries and wages. * Prepares various payroll reports for management and end users using ADP Workforce Now custom reporting and Excel. * Serves as point of escalation for complex payroll issues, resolves payroll discrepancies and employee inquiries. * Reviews and manages the payroll processes, ensuring the processes are up-to-date to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing. * Reviews and processes deductions for levy, garnishment, and child support orders, as well as various benefit deductions including 401(K) contributions and benefit premiums. * Provides detailed information to cost center managers to assist in the annual and quarterly planning process. This includes planning and forecasting the proper headcount and promotion salaries, bonus, and fringe benefits, in addition to analyzing the forecasting information and resolving discrepancies. Compliance and Internal Controls Oversight * Manages tax compliance issues related to tax jurisdictions. * Conducts regular audits/reviews of payroll processes and records to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement. * Ensures adherence to SOX/internal audit controls and/or monitors legislative changes affecting payroll. * Manages and verifies year-end process of W-2's and all related filings prepared by ADP and ensures timely filing of forms and payments. * Controls the payroll-related record retention requirements. * Maintains strict confidentiality and data security standards due to the sensitive nature of payroll data. Cross-Functional Collaboration * Interfaces routinely with functional stakeholders across HRIS, Legal, Finance, and Comp & Benefits teams. * Partners with the Sr. Corporate Accountant to ensure general ledger mapping is appropriate and payroll balances (i.e. manual/voided checks etc.) with the general ledger. * Assist with the preparation, review and presentation of audit schedules for the year-end financial statement audit, the 5500 / Benefit Plan audit, Workers' Compensation audit, and any other payroll related audits. Continuous Improvement * Assists with continuous improvement projects within the payroll function. * Identifies opportunities to streamline payroll processes and drive automation. * Stay current with industry trends and payroll regulations to ensure compliance and efficiency. * Participate in cross-functional projects and initiatives to enhance overall payroll operations. * Analyze annual salary templates for reasonableness and work with business partners to obtain explanations for material changes. Team Leadership and Development * Supervises 2-3 payroll specialists providing guidance, support, and mentoring. * Foster a collaborative and high-performance team environment. * Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback. MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS Education * Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Human Resources or related discipline , and 4 years of experience in payroll, finance, human resources or a related data/analytics position * OR an Associate degree in Business, Finance, Human Resources or related discipline and 6 years of experience in payroll, finance, human resources or a related data/analytics position required. Experience * At least 3 years managing or administering payroll required in a human resources or payroll function required. * Experience supporting system upgrades or implementations is strongly preferred. * Strong understanding of payroll processes, compliance, and regulations. * International payroll exposure including Canada, strongly desired. Skills * ADP experience required. Helpful. * Previous experience with Workday required, SAP experience helpful. * MS Office skills and experience with financial software required. * CPP or other applicable certification preferred. * Strong communication and interpersonal skills. * Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Compensation Range: $83,400.00 - $125,100.00
