Your Role

Are you a strategic thinker with a passion for building agile, efficient supply chains? Join us as a Purchasing Team Leader and play a critical role in sourcing materials and services for engineered-to-order industrial compressors. You'll lead a team, drive supplier performance, and collaborate cross-functionally to meet project demands;balancing cost, quality, and risk in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

As part of the Procurement team, you will report to the Sourcing Manager and work closely with our Engineering, Quality, Production, and Project Management teams. This is a hybrid role based at our Voorheesville, NY facility, requiring on-site presence three days per week. In-office attendance is mandatory on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with the flexibility to work remotely up to two days per week.

As a Purchasing Team Leader you will be responsible for:

• Leadership: Coach your team to meet goals, foster urgency, align the team with other departments to meet business goals, and drive collaboration across departments.
• Source Strategically: Oversee procurement activities, lead supplier negotiations, and ensure timely, cost-effective material delivery.
• Assess & Mitigate Risk: Evaluate supplier performance, address quality trends with the supplier, read and interpret contracts, and proactively manage supplier manage supply chain risks.
• Drive Improvement: Identify sourcing opportunities, support compliance, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

• Sourcing/Purchasing Expertise: 5-7 years of experience in sourcing or purchasing, demonstrating a strong understanding of procurement processes and strategies.
• Leadership: Proven leadership experience with measurable success in guiding teams and achieving business goals.
• Supplier Evaluation: Experience conducting supplier audits, scorecards, and performance reviews.
• Effective Communication: Strong skills in written, verbal, and presentation formats, able to convey ideas clearly and persuasively.
• Collaborative Influence: Ability to influence others without direct authority, fostering a collaborative environment.
• Contract Literacy: Ability to read, interpret, and act on commercial and technical terms in supplier contracts.
