Position Title Instructors - Graphic Design/Graphic Arts Management (Part-time Semester)
About this Opportunity
The School of Art at Ball State University invites applications for part-time instructors to teach a variety of courses in Graphic Design and Graphic Communications Management, including Introduction to Graphic Design, Web Design, Motion Graphics for Graphic Design, Intro to Printing Processes, Impact Printing Processes, Screen and Specialty Graphics, Packaging Technology, Packaging Construction and Design, Cross Media Communications, Color Management, and additional courses in the candidate's area of expertise. Successful candidates may be hired to teach between one and three sections and we offer both online and in-person modalities. Course development support and pedagogical mentoring will be offered.

The School of Art has over forty full-time faculty and staff and offers state-of-the-art facilities serving nearly 700 undergraduate majors. Programs at the BA, BS, and BFA levels include art education, art history, graphic communications management, graphic design, animation production, illustration, game art/design, visual effects, and a recently redesigned interdisciplinary studio art program that includes drawing, painting, printmaking, ceramics, glass, metals + jewelry, sculpture, photography, and video and new media. School of Art students enjoy world-class facilities, with over 73,000 square feet of classroom, gallery, and studio space in the Art and Journalism Building, Applied Technology Building, and the Marilyn K. Glick Center for Glass. Students and faculty work closely with David Owsley Museum of Art on campus, among the finest university art collections in the nation. Ball State University is accredited by the National Association for Schools of Art and Design.

The salary for this opportunity begins at $3,000.

Minimum Qualifications
Master's degree in Graphic design, Graphic Communications Management, or a related field from an accredited institution OR two years of documented industry experience in Graphic Design, Graphic Communications Management, or a related field.
Authorization to work in the US Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
One year of teaching experience at the college level
Required Certifications/Licensures
Pre-Employment Screening Requires successful completion of a background check and education verification.
