Job Description
Dewberry has an exciting opportunity for a College Recruiter to join Dewberry's high-performing college recruiting team based out of our Fairfax, VA office. This is an exciting opportunity to jump in and take charge of the company-wide college relations program. The successful candidate will be instrumental in the strategizing, planning, and execution of Dewberry's college recruiting program with key members of management to build and recruit our pipeline of intern and entry-level talent. This role requires a strong focus on results, a solution-oriented mindset, and taking ownership of the program execution and full-cycle recruitment for all intern candidates. Responsibilities
Program Strategy and Execution
Develop strong relationships with the company's operational leaders, external professional organizations, colleges and universities, and industry contacts to identify qualified interns and entry-level talent.
- Support and partner with managers to meet our intern and entry-level hiring goals for each region. Listen to feedback from managers, understand their hiring needs, and develop solutions together.
- Own the internship program. Plan and execute summer intern events. Manage the intern recruiting process and track conversion rates.
- Collect feedback from interns about their experiences and share best practices with managers
- Develop recruiting guidelines for managers about our hiring processes, deadlines, recruiting goals and importance of converting interns to full-time employees
- Provide best practices to managers for interviewing, campus engagement, and onboarding
- Publicize recruiting progress, campus engagement, and diversity efforts across multiple channels both internally and externally.
- Use feedback from interns and managers to assess the effectiveness of the program and incorporate changes for the next recruiting season.
Recruiting
- Conduct full-life cycle recruitment for all intern hires
- Review intern resumes for skills and qualifications in relation to position requirements while complying with EEO and OFCCP federal regulations
- Assist with the development of job descriptions if needed, and create and post all open requisitions through the Applicant Tracking System, iCIMS
- Conduct phone screens and coordinate interview schedules
- Advise and consult hiring managers throughout the hiring process to help identify the top candidates and advise on other venues to recruit hard-to-fill positions
- Report on intern recruiting activity and hiring to your managers and operational leadership on a regular basis
Campus Events (virtual and in-person as required)
- Plan, develop, coordinate, and attend recruiting events (career fairs, classroom presentations, etc.). Provide training to campus representatives.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships within targeted universities.
- Coordinate the necessary materials for campus events, including giveaways, handouts, and displays for the college recruitment program.
- Research and benchmark a variety of topics surrounding best practices and industry information.
Tracking Results
- Work daily in an applicant tracking system to capture relevant applicant information.
- Track acceptance rates and intern conversion rates. Use data to provide feedback and best practices to managers around interviewing and onboarding processes.
- Maintain quantitative data to track results and effectiveness of the college recruitment program.
- Share metrics with operational leadership on intern and entry-level recruiting activity to drive visibility.
Required Skills & Required Experience
- Bachelor's degree required
- At least 4 years of professional experience, HR or recruiting-related experience preferred
- Proficiency in the Microsoft office Suite is required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
- Proven ability to consistently and positively contribute in a fast-paced work environment with the ability to prioritize and execute projects and individual tasks, and manage time efficiently
- Ability to work collaboratively and effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced team environment, required
- Exceptional customer service focus, including attention to producing quality results and attention to detail
- Ability to build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and candidates
- Strong communication, interpersonal, teamwork, and organizational skills with superior verbal and written communication skills
- Self-directed, detail-oriented problem solver with a strong desire to contribute to the organization's reputation and success
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
- Experience with a web-based applicant tracking system, preferably iCIMS, a plus
- Ability to be on-site in our Fairfax headquarters at least three days per week
- Ability to travel 20-25% for career fair and campus events during fall and spring recruiting seasons
