Salary: $118,000-$125,000 yearly

Other compensation: Bonus potential.

Job Summary

The Director of Operations is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of food service operations across a large college campus. This includes an oversight of traditional dine-in venues, retail dining, franchised outlets, and small-format grocery stores. The role focuses on ensuring operational excellence, delivering exceptional guest service, and achieving strong financial performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all operational facets of campus dining facilities, ensuring consistency, quality, and efficiency across all locations.
  • Manage the financial performance of the operation, including food and beverage costs, labor management, and control of other expenses.
  • Champion a culture of outstanding guest service, ensuring a welcoming and satisfying experience for students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
  • Lead and coordinate multiple support functions, including culinary, purchasing, marketing, human resources, and facilities.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation standards and regulations.
  • Navigate and manage within a unionized workforce, fostering positive labor relations and effective team management.
  • Develop and implement operational strategies to improve service delivery, increase customer satisfaction, and drive revenue growth.
  • Support staff development through coaching, training, and performance evaluation.

Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience in multi-unit food and beverage operations, including dine-in, retail, franchised, and grocery-style venues.
  • Strong financial acumen with a proven ability to manage budgets, cost controls, and profitability.
  • Experience working in a union environment is required.
  • Exceptional leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Passion for delivering high-quality food and outstanding customer service.
