Job Summary The Director of Operations is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of food service operations across a large college campus. This includes an oversight of traditional dine-in venues, retail dining, franchised outlets, and small-format grocery stores. The role focuses on ensuring operational excellence, delivering exceptional guest service, and achieving strong financial performance. Key Responsibilities: Oversee all operational facets of campus dining facilities, ensuring consistency, quality, and efficiency across all locations. Manage the financial performance of the operation, including food and beverage costs, labor management, and control of other expenses. Champion a culture of outstanding guest service, ensuring a welcoming and satisfying experience for students, faculty, staff, and visitors. Lead and coordinate multiple support functions, including culinary, purchasing, marketing, human resources, and facilities. Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation standards and regulations. Navigate and manage within a unionized workforce, fostering positive labor relations and effective team management. Develop and implement operational strategies to improve service delivery, increase customer satisfaction, and drive revenue growth. Support staff development through coaching, training, and performance evaluation. Qualifications: Extensive experience in multi-unit food and beverage operations, including dine-in, retail, franchised, and grocery-style venues. Strong financial acumen with a proven ability to manage budgets, cost controls, and profitability. Experience working in a union environment is required.
