Job Description

As a Data Scientist, you'll contribute to major components of the firm's economic capital framework, including the estimation, aggregation, and allocation of economic capital at the enterprise level, as well as all related stress testing and scenario analytics. You'll be responsible for leading the use of data to make decisions. This includes development and execution of new modeling algorithms, coding and development of tools that use statistical modeling to make business decisions, searching for and integrating new data (both internal and external) that improves our modeling and results (and ultimately our decisions) and discovery of solutions to business problems that can be solved through the use of statistical modeling. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Communicates findings to team and leadership and ensures models are well understood and incorporated into business processes
  • Uses best practices, with coaching, to develop statistical techniques to build models that address business needs and executes on modeling projects effectively, contributing to a wide variety of projects
  • Innovates on projects by using new modeling techniques or tools
  • Collaborates with the team to improve the effectiveness of business decisions through the use of data and modeling
  • Work collaboratively with the quantitative team to estimate, aggregate, and allocate economic capital at the enterprise level, across the firm's entire portfolio of risks and businesses
  • Assist more senior colleagues in the Performance and Analytics team in supporting chief risk officers, risk organizations, and other business areas to evaluate risk-return tradeoffs, assess risk-return implications of strategic and operating plans, and embed the Enterprise Risk & Return Management (ERRM) framework across the organization
  • Assist in the creation of focused and transparent risk-return communication for senior management, board, internal, and external parties to facilitate engaged dialogue and decision-making
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • 4 year Bachelors Degree (Preferred)
  • Masters Degree (a plus)
  • 2 or more years of experience (Preferred)
  • In lieu of the above education requirements, an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
FUNCTIONAL SKILLS
  • Solid experience coding in a major statistical/econometric/programming language (e.g., Python, SAS, R, MATLAB, C++)
  • Demonstrable experience in computer science, applied statistics, econometrics, and/or algorithmics
  • Focused ability to ramp up quickly on specific areas of technical methodology is critical
  • Ability to provide clear, incisive communication that boils down complex information

Compensation

Compensation offered for this role is $76,200.00 - 134,550.00 annually and is based on experience and qualifications.
