*Description*
The Prior Authorizations Coordinator is responsible for processing all prior authorization requests and maintaining all CMN renewals with established standards which includes but is not limited to coordination with insurance companies, physicians' offices, and patients. Individual shall clearly identify, analyze and rectify issues while maintaining confidentiality of all protected health information. Position requires strong telephone, verbal and written communication skills, knowledge of customer service principles and practices, and time management skills with the ability to multi-task. Initiate and complete prior authorizations within a timely manner Obtain medical records, lab reports, and other documentation when necessary. Maintain a thorough understanding of authorization requirements and health plan contracts. Appeal authorizations that have been denied by insurance carriers. Create, send and follow up on all CMNs (certificate of medical necessity) and other supporting medical documentation required for billing and ordering Review CMN's for accuracy prior to logging in system Collaborates with Supervisor and internal departments, as needed, to provide account status updates and coordinate the resolution of issues. Provides excellent customer service to internal and external customers; resolves any customer requests in a timely and accurate manner; escalates complaints accordingly. Answers the telephone and disburses calls in a friendly, prompt and professional manner. Conveys messages accurately and appropriately. *Pay and Benefits* The pay range for this position is $18.70 - $25.30/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
