Requirements

  • Bachelors required; Masters preferred
  • Demonstrated experience with the Enhanced Behavioral Supports Homes (EBSH) model
  • 5 years+ supervisory experience working in CA Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities services
  • Experience working with Regional Centers and Disability Determination Services
  • Valid drivers license; ability to travel approximately 50%

We are seeking a Senior Executive Director to join our team supporting our Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities programs in Sacramento, CA, San Diego, CA, Redding, CA, and Chico, CA.

Earn up to $180,000 DOE.

This is a full-time, hybrid remote/in-office position (up to 50% travel). Schedule flexibility required based on the needs of our programs.

Position Details:

The Senior Executive Director ensures effective management and leadership, the application and implementation of established policies and procedures, and administration either directly or through delegation of all its operating elements. The Senior Executive Director ensures that programs and services are responsive to community needs, are of the highest quality and are in compliance with federal, state and local regulations.

The Senior Executive Director will:



  • Oversee personnel management functions such as salary structure, benefits, employee development, and performance management in alignment with Merakey policies.
  • Engage advisory boards, senior leadership, and staff in shaping operations.
  • In partnership with the Vice President of IDD Organizational Development, ensure services are high-quality, accessible, and well-coordinated to support continuity of care. Develops tailored programs that address the needs of the individuals served.
  • Serve as principal representative to national, regional, state, and local behavioral health/intellectual and developmental disabilities authorities and other appropriate officials by actively contributing to planning efforts, task forces, and policy discussions that impact service delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with Merakey policies and applicable federal, state, and local regulations, including California Title 17 and Title 22 requirements.
  • Monitors and evaluates legislative and regulatory developments that affect human services agencies and the delivery of services.
  • Represent the organization in the community through public engagements and local public relations efforts to promote awareness and understanding of programs and services.
  • Collaborate closely with internal administrative departments-including Human Resources, Finance, and Compliance to ensure alignment with organizational goals and strategic planning of realistic short, intermediate, and long-term plans.
  • Lead the development of the annual budget in coordination with the Vice President of IDD Organizational Development.
