We are seeking a skilled Contract Recruiter to support our talent acquisition efforts during a critical hiring period. This role will focus on sourcing, screening, and coordinating interviews for positions across our defense manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will have experience in recruiting high volume and a strong understanding of the defense industry, including familiarity with DoD contracts and security clearance requirements.

Nationality Requirements

Candidates must be eligible to obtain the relevant security clearance required for the role, due to the nature of the programmes we deliver for our customers.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage full cycle recruiting for a variety of roles, including engineering, manufacturing, quality assurance, logistics, and finance positions.
  • Partner with hiring managers to understand role requirements, develop job descriptions, and craft creative recruiting strategies.
  • Source passive and active candidates through various channels, including LinkedIn, industry or location specific boards, military transition programs, and clearance job sites.
  • Screen resumes, conduct initial interviews, coordinate additional interviews and manage onboarding compliance.
  • Issue offers and participate in compensation negotiations.
  • Utilize creative recruitment marketing strategies to uplevel employer branding
  • Maintain accurate candidate records in the applicant tracking system (ATS).
  • Represent the company professionally and promote our employer brand at job fairs and recruiting events.
  • Collaborate with HR and security teams to ensure timely onboarding.
  • Track and report recruiting metrics to measure performance and hiring efficiency.

Required Skills:

  • 3-5 years of full-cycle recruiting experience, either at corporate or agency level.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and OFCCP guidelines.
  • Experience with applicant tracking systems (e.g., iCIMS, Workday, Taleo, or similar).
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field preferred.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with manufacturing technical recruiting is a plus.
  • Experience supporting high-volume hiring and surge staffing needs.
  • Familiarity with government contracting requirements and FAR/DFARS regulations.
  • Knowledge of defense industry job functions and technical terminology (e.g., systems engineering, CNC machining, quality standards like AS9100).
  • Ability to build strong pipelines and talent communities for hard-to-fill roles.
  • Prior use of sourcing tools like LinkedIn Recruiter, Indeed and other job boards.
  • Strong analytical skills to assess recruiting data and improve sourcing strategies.
  • Military recruitment or veteran outreach program experience is a strong plus.
  • Certification such as AIRS, CIR, or PHR/SPHR is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Frequent use of hands and fingers to operate computer keyboards, telephones and other office equipment
  • Ability to occasionally stand, walk, reach, bend, or lift light office supply (up to 15 lbs)
  • Clear verbal communication and active listening during interviews, meetings and phone calls.
  • Occasional travel may be required for job fairs, campus recruiting events or meetings (typically less than 10%).
